Reviews - What do our customers think?
Very age appropriate  Jan 7, 2010
I got this in the mail today and just read it to my daughter who is 5 and a half. She paid close attention and had no idea that boys and girls were anatomically different until seeing the pictures. It was just enough information for this age and I told her that this was just stuff we talk about at home and not with our friends at school. As soon as I finished the book she wanted me to read it again. It sparked great conversation and I think it was well presented.
Why Boys & Girls Are Different  Oct 4, 2009
I bought this book to read to my four year old daughter. I have just looked through it to preview before actually showing her. I would say it's good overall. It touches on how God made boys and girls a little different. Also that babies are born through the vagina. It has one page with a picture of a little boy and girl from the front. We have a boy and girl so this will not be anything that my daughter hasn't seen before. I think it was done in good taste. Not too much info for her at this age. It does not go into any details on the act of sex, which for me is important. It touches on marriage (between a man and a woman only), and then they decide they want a baby to share their love with. So it goes straight to the baby growing inside the mother's tummy. This works for me. It does go into a lot about God making our families and church families. I am a Christian and love that my children are learning about God. I take issue though when the point seems forced and God's name is in every other sentence. This book seems to do that a little bit throughout. It touches on us all being sinners and that we need Jesus to forgive us. I teach my children this but I'm not sure I really like it in this book when the focus should be about our bodies. I do recommend it for an intro to the differences between boys and girls. Especially since it doesn't give too much info for this age group.
Same content as boy's version  Sep 11, 2009
The content of this book is quite good. It is a good introduction to differences between girls and boys. One page was a little heavy ("One way we are all the same is that we are all sinners. We all need to be forgiven." Also, I bought the "For Boys" version of this book as well and the content is almost exactly the same, just different page order. Save your money and only buy one of them. I wish the cover was more gender neutral (clever marketing department...)-then I would just buy one for both my son and daughter.
Learning about Sex Series  Jul 11, 2009
This is a great Christian based (Bible based) way to discuss sex and everything that precludes it with your children. It coaches you through everything from the time they are little and even gives you sample conversations. That part is great for any tongue tied parent nervous about these types of conversations. But, once you start the ball rolling with the book, it encourages your children to come to you with their questions instead of their peers. This book set is great!! Especially with the parent guide.
Just right  Jun 19, 2009
I was looking for a book to share this delicate information with my daughter. I viewed one other book series but, it shared more information than I felt was appropriate for my daughter's age. This book gave the right amount of information that I wanted to share with my daughter.

My daughter loved the story and she is looking forward to reading the other books in the series with me.
