Item Description...
Despite the differences between people around the world, there are things in common, such as pain, joy, and love.

Publishers Description
"Little one, / whoever you are, / wherever you are, / there are little ones / just like you / all over the world." So begins the Australian author Mem Fox's joyful picture book "Whoever You Are," a celebration of the world's diverse cultures, both our similarities and differences. Leslie Straub's innovative, colorful, folk art-style oil paintings of children from all corners of the globe are bordered with photographs of hand-carved, bejeweled frames--and they all reflect Fox's message that no matter where we come from, within our hearts "Joys are the same, / and love is the same. / Pain is the same, / and blood is the same." A gem

Reviews - What do our customers think?
Wonderful, Colorful, Great Message  Jan 9, 2008
I love this book. It has beautifully colored illustrations to go along with a wonderful message that no matter how different we all are, we are all the same in many ways...we all smile, laugh, hurt, cry, and experience joy, love, and pain the same way.
A Good Book  Oct 28, 2007
I actually like this. It's a good and colorful read for kids of all races and great for young readers.
Simple book about common humanity  Oct 15, 2007
Understanding our common humanity is perhaps one of the most obvious yet most difficult things for people to perceive. Thus this book is a welcome message of our needs, wants, and emotions, all the while acknowledging that we do have differences that may obscure our ability to perceive these shared similarities. The simple, warm text is appropriate for young children.
Super for Preschoolers  Jul 30, 2007
I use this book with our preschool classes when introducing multiculturalism and diversity. I highly recommend this book-- it's a great way to introduce a difficult theme, and it's beautifully written and illustrated.
Great book for your kiddo's  Jun 27, 2007
This is a beautifully illustrated, wonderfully written book. What a great way to teach young ones the importance of loving one another no matter what your color, religion, or ethnicity is.
