Item Description...
They guided you through pregnancy, they guided you through baby's first year, and now they'll guide you through the toddler years. In a direct continuation of What to Expect When You're Expecting (over 9.6 million copies in print) and What to Expect the First Year (over 5.6 million copies in print), America's bestselling pregnancy and childcare authors turn their uniquely comprehensive, lively, and reassuring coverage to years two and three. Organized month by month for the second year (months 12-24) and quarterly through the third year (months 24-36), What to Expect the Toddler Years covers each growth and development phase parents are likely to encounter-when they're likely to encounter it. Hundreds of questions and answers treat everything from eating and sleeping problems to day care, tantrums, bottle mouth, shyness, self-esteem, and more. An entire third section of the book is devoted to toilet training, safety, and health, and a fourth covers special concerns-the exceptional child, siblings, and balancing work and parenting.

Awesome Book!  Feb 23, 2007
This book is so handy.. i bought it to refresh my memory with my grandkids since i have them here with me alot! It has been so helpful! I recommend it to any new parent or even if your already a parent! It's a great handbook and should be made legal for every parent and grandparent to own one! lol
It arrived in a great timely manner and i luv shopping with this
Good reference  Feb 7, 2007
This is a good reference but it is hard to think of toddlers in the "month to month" fashion that is typical of this book series.
Pre-dates the Internet explosion and multiples boom  Jan 27, 2007
This is an enormously helpful guide to parenting your toddler, from feeding to safety to dealing with your own emotions in the face of an irrational toddler. The book is comprehensive in its month-by-month guide as well as the special sections on toilet training and other crucial topics. However, I am struck by the fact that this edition was completed before the Internet became the vast resource that it is today. This is not to say that the information provided here can be found as easily or in such a comprehensive manner on the Internet. It's just that there are numerous additional resources to be tapped on the Net and it would be helpful to sees references to those resources as part of the chapters or even specific sections. Also, as a mother of twins I am particularly sensitive to information (or lack thereof) on raising multiples. Yes, there are books out there especially geared to parenting multuples, but this book almost acts as if multiples don't exist. There was one tiny little section near the end, but that was it. With women having children later, there has been an enormous multiples baby boom. It would be nice of this book has more advice for those parents. For example, the book states "Never leave your toddler alone in the car for even a moment." This is completely unrealistic if you have multiples. Especially in your own driveway, you often need to leave one child alone (strapped into the car seat) for a moment while you bring the other into the house and put him in a safe area while you go get the other one. I would prefer that the book offered advice on how to handle these situations safely when you have multiples.
not so impressed  Jan 18, 2007
I had to contact the seller and "remind" him that I ordered the book~ it took almost a month to finally arrive~
Good reference, not as useful as the companion "First Year" book  Jan 15, 2007
This has been a good reference to help us understand our growing toddler, but we haven't used it as much as the companion book, "What to expect the first year" which we also bought.

As others have mentioned, there the author(s) do seem to have an agenda, but I didn't find it to be overwhelming. There's still a lot of good information provided and it's all in one place.
