Item Description...
Kenyon had a relationship with God that transcends time. He was an author in tune with the Spirit of God. He doesn't give the reader alot of fluff or opinion but instead he backs up every statement with the Word of God. This book is deep and yet very understandable, it is modern and yet a classic. This book will unveil to you the cross in all its glory and open the veil of the Holiest of Holies unto you. Read it slowly... because this book unveils great understanding of who Jesus is and what he still doing for the believer. He is our Great High Priest!

This thrilling book is an unveiling of the unveiling Pauline Revelation, and shows what God did in Christ from the incarnation until He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on High. Long hidden truths are revealed which will thrill and astound you. The church has never fully understood the spiritual significance of what happened when Christ died on the cross, was buried and rose again on the third day. All that the average Christian has seen is the physical suffering of Christ. Few realize the deep truths that are given us in the Pauline Revelation. Until God revealed these truths to Paul, no one understood why Christ came... why the death on the cross was necessary... no one knew what happened during those three days that his physical body lay in the tomb before the resurrection. Even the disciples, who had walked with Jesus, did not fully realize who He was, why He came, what He was to suffer and what they were to gain by His suffering. They did not know what happened on the cross, or during the three days and nights before His resurrection, but we must know of these three days, for this is the thing that will build faith into us. These vital truths must be known by every child of God if he or she is to live an overcoming life.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
What's he talking about?  Sep 23, 2005
I love Brother Kenyon. He was one of the first to get the true righteousness of God revelation as well as whom we are in Christ Jesus. However, certain aspects of his writings confused me such as; the legal and vital sides of our redemption. I understand the concept, but not the origin. Why is it called "legal" and "vital"? I also don't understand why Adam had a "legal" right to turn over creation to Satan, but not a "moral right". I'm not saying that Brother Kenyon was wrong, but I'm simply stating there are a few things in this book and some of his other writings that I just don't understand.

However, I did enjoy his explanation of how the High Priests of Israel offered up the Covenant God Jehovah as a sacrifice. I had never seen it that way before...but there it was. Brother Kenyon is adept at bringing the realities of our redemption into the light and revealing to us who we are in Christ Jesus. If you are a young Christian...then try Brother Hagin or Creflo Dollars books first. But if you're a long time Christian still struggling with who you are in Him...give this book a try and see what He did to make us the righteousness of Him. God Bless!
fascinating but at times speculative  May 19, 2005
This is a hard book to rate. Much of what Kenyon writes is helpful and encouraging. But a bit of it is marred by false presuppositions. It's almost as if at times EW takes his revelation knowledge gleaned from our supernatural scriptures, and then applies his own logic of the senses which betrays him. Nevertheless, I love the way he writes: short, crisp heartfelt sentences, at times repetitive but one gets the point. One huge caveat is that he also writes as if he's declaring biblical truths rather than being merely speculative.

Early in the book Kenyon states that it's been proven that a person's blood type is determined by the father - which is just not true. This leads him to conclude that Jesus' blood was untainted by the adamic nature because He had no human father. Jesus then had special blood and since life is in the blood (Lev.17:11), Jesus had the life of God in him. He couldn't die. That is why to Kenyon, Jesus had to literally become sin and take on the nature of Satan - only then did His body become mortal. Only then could He die. And that when He died He died a complete death, physically and spiritually, the same death that the unredeemed natural man will experience. Jesus tasted death for us. Sounds good, but just recall that we know today that a person's blood type isn't necessarily determined by the father...

The rest of the book is a fascinating account of Kenyon's highly speculative insights about what happened from the cross to the throne and what it means for us. I love the chapter "What Happened On The Cross", and Kenyon's studies in Hebrews are so good they could be a book by themselves.

Another high point is Kenyon's observation that the Gospels show true Spirit-led authorship because especially Luke and Mark would have been familiar with Pauline revelation, having travelled with Paul. Yet, as Kenyon understandably enthuses, the gospel writings from their pen show a spiritual restraint concerning Pauline thought. Amazing stuff.

I sum "What Happened" as essential for the Kenyon reader but perhaps not as essential for other Christians. Kenyon's "Hidden Man" is probably the most comprehensive of his books - perhaps I'll review that one next, it's wonderful & changed my life! The more interested reader would do well to also check out Troy Edwards's extensive online article "Did Jesus Die Spiritually?" which builds a biblical case for the JDS doctrine; and also Rob Bowman's "Word-Faith Controversy" which exposes some holes in JDS.
The Dangers of Reading Into The Text  May 17, 2004
E.W. Kenyon is a mystery. Many charismatics hold him to be a theological genius, his writings almost equal to Paul's, and he ranks up there with Word-Faith teachers such as Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, and Fredrick Price.

On the other hand, many evangelicals (and Pentecostals as well) hold Kenyon to be heretical in his teachings and views. I believe you should first read the man's works before making a final judgement.

Having said this, this book exposes the true errors of speculation apart from Scripture. What happened between the cross and the throne is not relevant! Jesus' death and His blood being poured our for our forgiveness and then rising on the third day is (Matthew 1:21; 26:28; John 19:30; Acts 2:22-24; 17:30-31; Romans 4:24-5:11; 10:9-10; Eph. 1:7; Titus 2:11-15; 3:5-7; Hebrews 9:14, 27-28; Revelation 1:5-6). To create stories and so called revelations about Jesus entering hell and taking the keys from the devil's hands only leads to more and more chaotic teachings.

Friends, stay true to Scripture (1 Timothy 4:16; Titus 2:1). Avoid speculations (2 Peter 1:16-21). Stay grounded in God's eternal word and you will never fail (2 Peter 3:17-18). Don't allow deception to rob you of the blessings of eternal life (1 Thessalonians 3:5; Hebrews 3:6-19; 4:1-16).

I recommend THE WORD-FAITH CONTROVERSY by Robert Bowman and A DIFFERENT GOSPEL by Dan McConnell.

Know what happened behind the scenes...  Aug 7, 2003
What most Christians do not know is that if you depend upon the Gospels to give a complete treatise on what happened when Christ died, you will miss out on what happened behind the scenes, so to speak. Because the Pauline revelation was just that: a revelation of what Christ did for us and what He accomplished at the Cross, in the tomb and in His resurrection.

It is only through a knowledge of what happened From the Cross to the Throne that the true majesty and glory of Christ can be seen and His substitutional work appreciated.

Since this type of teaching is lost on many areas of the institutional Church, it is no wonder that many have assailed the truths contained in this book. People simply do not know what Christ did in total, and to hear something that has been missing from their brand of christianity for so long sounds to them like another "revelation".

In reality, it is Paul's revelation and it is scriptural and the Church needs to be taught in this area for when we know what Christ accomplished, we know what we are capable of doing through HIM.

Highly recommended...
