Item Description...
Rooted in Mennonite Central Committee's nearly six decades of work alongside Palestinians and Israelis, Under Vine and Fig Tree examines ways in which the Bible has been used to justify violence and dispossession and ways it can be received as a life-giving word for Palestinians and Israelis wishing to live securely under their own vines and fig trees.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
propaganda and half truths  Jan 3, 2010
My parents attend a Mennonite church in PA and this book was recently used as a study tool in my father's Sunday School class. Over Christmas I happened upon it among my father's books and within seconds found half a dozen misrepresentations of historical truth, and a dozen more within a short time after that.

This is one of the most biased accounts of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict I have ever seen. If I could give this book a zero star rating I would gladly do so.

For a more accurate and thorough depiction of the history of Israel, "From Time Immemorial" by Joan Peters is well worth the read.
