In anticipation of its 2006 album, TESTIFY, the Christian nu-metal act P.O.D. (which stands for "Payable on Death") released this seven-song EP. In addition to demo tracks and live recordings, the disc includes the surging religious number "If It Wasn't for You" and (strangely enough) the reggae-tinged, Jah-praising "Why Wait?" Far from a stopgap offering, this potent 28-minute outing is sure to please the P.O.D. faithful.

Good EP  Feb 7, 2006
Wjy Wait and Eyes of a Stranger are some great Reggae tunes...they remind me of when I was in Guam a few weeks ago, driving along the beach listening to those songs.
Little bit of the new and a whole lot of rare  Jan 4, 2006
The Good
P.O.D. keeps their faith and spirituality firmly in place with the EP's centerpiece "If It Wasn't for You." It's not really a track I could envision on the radio, but it's sure to please fans. The group throws in two demos from their Palm Springs recording sessions; "Teachers" and "Ya Mama." Both tracks are full of thunderous energy, and are problem some of the best sounding demos I've heard. "Why Wait?" and "Eyes of a Stranger" are both a departure in sound for P.O.D. (as far as I know). The songs have a strong reggae feel to them, but still manage to fit in with anything they've done in the past.

The Bad
I've seen P.O.D. live twice and the live versions of "Boom" and Windfire" included here do not do them justice.

The Verdict
P.O.D. gives you a little bit of the new and a whole lot of rare. For the amount of material packed on this EP, it's worth taking a listen.
POD fan from Iowa  Dec 7, 2005
ok i'm 33 and Sonny is my same age. I was blown away at the awesome heaviness in the first 3 tracks! Why wait is different and sounds more ska-like, but the thing is THIS is a new sounding POD! I've never heard Sonny sound this good at ska or reggae like EVER! Eyes of a Stranger is a good cover song from a band in the 80s that wasn't very popular. I found out from a listing of songs from Testify the ONLY song on here to be found on Testify is "Teachers" I love that song! both that song and Ya Mama sound like stuff that should have been on BROWN! and yes BROWN still is THE best POD cd! "It will blow the classical music out your butt!" Well put Jack Black! I am really getting ANXIOUS for the new cd! i THINK it may be my NEW favorite, if it's as heavy as i'm hearing! the only mistake for their first video is a SOFT song! that'll turn a LOT of people OFF! But still i'm a LIFELONG POD FAN! and i think my life is just about up! ta ta! and JAH JAH WARRIORS, PEACE AND LOVE! WITHOUT JAH NOTHIN!
A Holy Climax of awsomness  Dec 6, 2005
OK irst off I am over 13
I was heartally amazed by this album but when you spend almost a year in the studio it better be this good they went in aroud thanksgiving of last year and kept us waiting this long! and if this is the result then I will never be impatient AGAIN!
overall my favorite song by far is Ya mamma sonny is in his best form since southtown on this song I have never seen P.O.D. live before but whithout a doubt these song will rock all audiences
wherever they play

the only two thoughts I want to leave you whith are BUY THIS EP...FAST!
and if tese tracks werent good enough for the actual album I can only fantisize about the caliber of Testify
in stores everywere jan 24
Sign of good things to come....  Dec 2, 2005
Personally, this album stuck a cord with me, as I was in attendance at the Cornerstone show in which it was recorded. If you had attended that show, I would stongly recommend it as it is considered on of their greater performances to date. The other songs are incredible as well. "If it wasn't for you" still assures you that no matter how acclaimed you become, Jesus is what gave you that gift and you need to give back to Him daily. I can only attempt to fathom the depth their next album will display. Typically, December is a month which in retrospect goes quickly, but I find the days to drag on as we near Testifys release. If you have any interest in P.O.D. and their passion, please pick up your own copy. God Bless...
