Overview
Many Christians today hear the upward call of God to holiness. But they do not know how to answer the call. In a moment of inspiration they hear the still, small voice and catch a glimpse of a land filled with rare spiritual vistas. They treasure the vision and sense a deep hunger of the soul for more of God. But in the "maddening maze of things"-such as car pools, night classes, music lessons, soccer practice, and church committee meetings-the vision fades and on they go, stumbling along the Mediocre Way instead of the Highway of Holiness. The Upward Call presents a marriage between the Wesleyan teaching of holiness and the spiritual formation tradition. Following this unique approach, the authors offer a fresh, compelling, and practical description of what if means to respond to that hunger of the soul-to heed the upward call of God to a holy life of growing Christlikeness. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:14, NKJV

Reviews - What do our customers think?
This book helps settle the "Who am I, Why am I here?" qstn.  Jan 14, 2000
With so much emphasis on self-help books, "The Upward Call" targets the true purpose for our lives. Spiritual development is not a matter of self-achievement, self-help, or self-discipline, according to this book, but strictly a matter of a relationship with God. This book clearly points out a path, with strong Weslyan foundations, to a meaningful, fulfilling relationship with God. It directs us to become "the whole person in relationship with God, with-in the community of belivevers, growing in Christlikeness, reflected in a Spirit-directed, disciplined lifestyle, and demonstrated in actions that lead others to redemption."

A life-changing read.
