Product Description
During the Reformation, a renewed interest in Scripture brought great light to the church and the world. In The Reformation Study Bible, general editor R. C. Sproul aims to present the light of the Reformation anew by combining an accessible translation with study notes that stand firmly in the theological tradition of the Reformation.

No other study Bible gives the reader more assistance in understanding the great doctrines and themes of the Christian faith as found in the Scriptures. Extensive notes have been researched and written by a team of more than fifty scholars, including J. I. Packer, James Boice, and Wayne Grudem.

All Christians that want to dig deeper in their study of Scripture will appreciate the bible’s many features, including section introductions, book introductions and outlines, comments on the biblical text, theological notes, charts, in-text maps, and cross-references.

The first study bible based on the English Standard Version, The Reformation Study Bible is the perfect choice for men and women that want to study God’s word in a language they can understand.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
The Reformation Study Bible: English Standard Version  Mar 8, 2007
It is easy to read. It is printed in larger print than the New King James Reformation Study Bible. The notes are very helpful. From what I have compared the notes are the same in both Bibles. I do not like
"by R. C. Sproul" on the cover. It may be edited by him and I like the easy reading style but his name should not be highlighted. He is not the author of the Bible. I would highly recommend what's between the front and back covers.

Excellent Bible   Mar 8, 2007
Excellent Bible for studying God's word. Recommend it for novice and the mature Christian.

All you will ever need to understand the World of God  Feb 26, 2007
Bible construction is of a high quality. The notes and commentary are excellent. My only complaint is that the pages are not set up to allow note taking. I followed up my initial purchase with a purchase of 3 additional Bibles for the rest of my family.

Food for the Hungry!  Feb 20, 2007
I couldn't agree more with the previous review by Challies Dot Com. This is the "gold standard" for study Bibles. I was first introduced to this Bible through the preaching of Dr. John Neufeld, at Willingdon Church. He used it as his primary Bible for preaching and teaching. Then I heard the same was true of Dr. John Piper. I had already begun to use the ESV translation, but thought that these two great preachers must be on to something. So my wife and I both ordered a copy: a hardcover for her and a leather-bound edition for myself. This Bible has exceeded my expectations in every way. As a full-time pastor often running dry and hungry for nourishment for my soul from God's Word, this translation and these study notes are true food for the hungry! If this Bible gains the readership that the Geneva Bible had in the 16th and 17th centuries, then we will truly see reformation and revival as Christians across the globe recover the powerful message of salvation in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone!

a solid study Bible  Feb 20, 2007
I've come to love the ESV translation over the last year or so - it's literal beauty and daily readability are unmatched in my opinion. I'd recommend it to anybody looking for a great "do-all" translation, from daily reading to Bible study to word studies, etc.

The study notes, articles, and other materials included with the Reformation Study Bible are quite helpful. I have nothing negative to say about the "Life Applications" study Bibles which are so popular these days, but I find this one far more helpful. I think of it as more of a "grown-folk" Bible, but mature Christians of any age would find it useful.

Inasmuch as I can comment on quality, having owned it a short time, the book is well made. The pages are of good weight; the font is very readable and clear. The cover, I find, is quite pleasing to the eye. It's a large book, but no larger than any other study Bible. The one addition I would make is perhaps a page-minder (those ribbon book marks found commonly in leather-bound Bibles). I have a few inviter cards for my church I keep on hand as bookmarks, but you run the risk of giving away your bookmark!

HIGHLY recommended to anybody without any reservation.
