Item Description...
Gods Word was meant to be read. But more than that, it was meant to be understood. It was first written in the language of the peopleof fishermen, shopkeepers, and carpenters. The Message Remix gets back to that: You can read it and understand it.

In The Message Remix, there are new verse-numbered paragraphs that will help you study and find favorite passages. Or, you can just read it like a book and let the narrative speak to you. After all, it is Gods story, with its heroes and villains, conflicts and resolutions. Either way, its Gods Wordthe Truthin a user-friendly form.

Fun to Read!  May 3, 2010
The Message Remix is a fun Bible to read. It is written in the way we would talk today. It is not a good Bible to study but it gives a different outlook on the happenings of that day.
Great LITTLE Book  Apr 26, 2010
This is a great type of Bible reading. It is in today's dialect. I have enjoyed reading it. My only negative is of it's size. It is a hard back cover, but the size of a paper back.
Good devotional  Apr 5, 2010
Perfect for my young adult son. It give a good bible reading plan that fits his reading time. He uses it daily
An excellent Bible  Mar 30, 2010
I bought it for my sister, she loves it. It's really helped her get to know Jesus.
Thrills my soul  Mar 18, 2010
These Message Bibles are very addictive in various read and collect and to savior and enjoy. I posted a review for the Message Conversations Bible, but my collection of them started with the Message New Testament when it came out some years ago. I even remember an Evangelist who had a crusted well worn Message paperback NT as her ministry tool. I can see she really got the message by her message she gave. Over the years I tend to vacillate between word equivalent Bibles all the way to the Message. I am very thankful for these choices, and they all impact my life greatly. I think what is so very apparent is that Eugene Peterson really knows the Bible languages, and I see it conveyed so beautifully in modern terms specifically worded to bring the Message of the Bible across. Even more he knows WHO JESUS is and that is clearly expressed in great belief. I find these Bibles to be treasures of exquisite, priceless, value. I have purchased several of these remix sizes in various bindings. I believe some of these smaller ones are sewn. The one thing that I cannot offer readers here is if the older Message versions that do not have the numbering system is another version in any other way except the numbering system. These newer ones are stated to be version 2.0. But what is also apparent in some of the new remixes is the addition of extras in the back and so forth. But, I do not know if any changes took place in the text itself from the earlier to the 2.0 version. Either editions are a delight to read. For those considering a first time purchase I would like to caution you to not expect it to be an equivalent to your word equivalent study Bibles. It might bother you or disappoint if you thought that someone could take a Hebrew or Greek text and reword it to convey the message and then for us to think it is an equivalent??? No, it will not work that way. But I think he had done well. What I think is the difference, is once having read passages of the Message Bible, one walks away and got it. While reading a more difficult Bible translation, one walks away wondering sometimes if they got it correctly or understood what they read. I am an odd person as I totally support in many ways all the Bibles we have, but I am torn between the two poles of choice; I am happy at both at different times. It is like observing the Bible preachers. The technical versus the easy to understand choice of preachers. Who is having the most impact? What people are demonstrating the best Christian walk as a result? I am at odds from observing some groups. I have noticed that "some" people who are KJV advocates are now rejecting the very Greek and Hebrew manuscripts where they came from. In a way, they are placing the translators of the KJV as their gods as they are literalists of the KJV. As a woman when I see groups that declare "literally" that women must be silent in church for example, based on the KJV 1 Cor 14:34. And quote to women what they are allowed to do and not literally per KJV, I must wonder when Acts 2:17-19 will ever apply? Or when I am told to be the Proverbs woman in Chapter 31...I must tell them that if every woman in their congregation "considered a field and bought it", they might have some bankrupted people in church, particularly if they lived in Manhattan or something. It says to do it literally after all. But when everything is said and done, I stand extremely strongly for the KJV also, but I have found that there are absolute treasures in all the Bibles we have...and I believe it is that way so that no one can boast. Thereby, I highly recommend the Message Bible to all who are interested. Some will likely consider it one of the best material possessions that they own. Yet, more than anything, all else, let the Holy Spirit lead you and guide you into all Truth. HE will. God bless you all in Jesus' Name.
