Item Description...
Overview
When asked what he believed was the most important command God ever issued, Jesus replied, "The most important command is this... Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second command is this: Love your neighbor as you love yourself. There are no commands more important than these" (Mark 12:29-31 NCV). These two commands form the foundation of Christianity, yet Jesus himself is the only person to ever keep them completely. In The Greatest Commands: Learning to Love like Jesus, author Scott Bayles delves deeply into the life and love of Jesus in an attempt to draw closer to the heart of Christ and discover the true meaning of loving God and loving people.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
A Restorative Approach  Oct 12, 2008
The Greatest Commands is a well crafted book. Mr. Bayles walks you through examples from the life of Jesus and gives the reader some key contextual information that helps them to understand the significance of the stories. His approach is simple and informative and avoids most of the divisive pitfalls that some theologians trip over due to not understanding the theme and message that Jesus proclaimed. If you are looking for a good perspective on Jesus and to learn to have a closer walk with him, I would highly recommend this book.

A biased review  Jun 2, 2008
Okay, this is a little biased since my husband is the author but here I go....
If you are a "new" Christian, this is a great starter book (other than the Bible). The whole book is a focus on how Jesus lived his life and how we can take his example to try our best to live like him.
If you are an "experienced" Christian, this is a wonderful book with a fresh perspective on Jesus' life.
Whether you are "new" or "experienced", this read will draw you closer to God as you apply it and follow his two greatest commands, loving God and loving people.
This is my new favorite book, not because my hubby wrote it (although I'm sure that doesn't hurt), but because I think everyone needs a little reminder sometimes of who's example we need to be following and what God said was most important.
