Item Description...
A teenage boy is initially constrained by life's struggles. In due time though, through the power of love, he is able to greatly improve his condition. In varying measure the people who come into contact with him influence his life, and he in turn influences theirs. In his quest for fulfillment he encounters challenges and choices that set the stage for additional growth of character. His faith and trust in God eventually become the core of his strength to endure adversity and disappointment. He comes to know and remind himself in the midst of hardship that pain is a temporary situation, and that it can be a stepping stone to acquiring a healthier outlook. Perseverance in the ways of love has its intrinsic rewards. We live in such a hurting world, so much so that we are in need of being reminded that there is a bright light of hope at the end of any tunnel of gloom.

Finding the Positive Outlook in Life Can be Done  May 26, 2006
Orrin Michael Carpenter writes a novel, that is based on true events of being in the path of serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Dwight Enhart, starts out as a happy outgoing child and becomes a shy, detached boy without any friends. This story will take you on the journey of his life and how he was able to change his life, with hope and perserverence. He finds God has intervened to save the life he felt so badly about and he sees that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
He becomes able to create a positive outlook for himself and improve his life while sharing and influencing others with what he learns. Teenagers would especially benefit from reading this book to relate to feelings they may be having as they become adults.
An engaging tale of the young discovery of God through friendships and social barriers   Apr 9, 2006
The Fading Of The Scars by Orrin Michael Carpenter is an novel influenced by the real-life occurrences which saved the author from the clutches of the notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy. As a boy, Dwight Enhart found himself enmeshed in the fogs of an ordinary teenage boyhood in 1946 as a young man who had development into a shy, yet respected leader in his high school, The Fading Of The Scars is an engaging tale of the young discovery of God through friendships and social barriers that eventually break through as a message of enlightenment. Exceptionally well written, The Fading Of The Scars is very highly recommended reading -- especially for teenagers searching for their own meaning, as it very well contrasts and relates to the sensitive social truths of being a teenager even today.
