Inspiring  Mar 16, 2007
Loving the Brio magazine, I decided to give the series a try and I wasn't disappointed. The plot, Jacie struggling to share her faith, was realistic and an issue I deal with all the time. She wasn't the perfect Christian who had everything figured out, she was someone who struggles just like the rest of us.

A few of the comments in the book (some of Solana's) were a bit uncalled for, in my opinion, but other than that I would rate this as a very clean book. One thing I found irritating was Hannah's religous zeal. I'm all for living for Christ, but Hannah carried this air of 'I'm-a-better-Christian-then-you-are,' and she's regarded that way because she was a homeschooler. I'm a homeschooler myself and know dozens of conservative homeschoolers who are great Christians, but none of them act like Hannah.

In summary, in spite of a few flaws, I reccomend this books to girls ages 12 and up because this truly is a book that you'll laugh with, cry at, and will inspire you.
Very Good book!!!!!!!  Apr 27, 2006
I truly enjoyed this story. It talks about the things that every girl deals with, but doesnt know what to do about. I have personally felt almost all the same feelings that Jacie felt. I think that every teen girl should read this book.
Christian+ family= great life!!!!!!!!!!  Jun 3, 2005
Are you ready to go into a romancey world where a guys first kiss is all that matters to you? Well guess what. this book would so totally not be for you. Are yoyu going to and meet God for the first time? then this would be perfect for you. This book is mostly about Becca, Solona, Hannah, Tyler, and Jamie. they are christian friends who have trouble in every day life. if it's trying to help at the outreach community center or spending time with your buds. They will help you realize how much they are just like you! read it! You won't be sorry!!!!!
The First "Brio Girls" Book  May 18, 2005
Lately, Jacie has been feeling as though she is failing at being a Christian. The new girl at school, Hannah, has strong beliefs in God, and she isn't afraid to share her beliefs with others. Where Jacie, on the other hand, gets tongue-tied every time she tries to witness. Not to mention that, as Hannah points out, Jacie is more focused on getting in to an expensive art conference than anything spiritual or Godly. Could anything possibly make Jacie even LESS focused on what she believes is right? Yes, and the answer is: the school "bad boy", who Jacie finds herself very attracted to. She eventually learns that he has a chip on his shoulder, and a grudge against God. But how can she help him if he is always turning her down every time she tries to talk about God?

This was a fantastic book! I could relate to Jacie feeling as though God might not really be there, and understanding her feelings helped me to gain a lot from this book. It inspired me to do daily devotions, and to pray with more heart. Besides the entertaining storyline, the easy-to-relate-to part is why I rate this book "5 stars". The only thing that I didn't like about this book was that the characters were always teasing each other! Some of the sutff that they would say to each other was much more mean than funny. That made the "Brio Girls" seem less like friends some of the time. But other than that, this is a really good book! I recommend it to girls ages twelve to sixteen (the recommended age), since it had some parts that would be inappropriate for younger girls.

Also, this is the first "Brio Girls" book. I think it would be a great place to start reading and get into the series, since newer books sometimes give away the ending to earlier ones.
Great book  Jul 15, 2003
I loved this book. It was great. Jacie and her friends belive in god. Well all, but Solana that is. Hannah a new girl is also a brio girl. She really belives in god and tries to incurage the other girls and Tyler to tell other people about their faith. Jacie feels kind of funny about this. She loves to paint. Jacie meets this bad-boy named Damine. Jacie does not tell anyone about him. They start to hang out together. Jacie really likes him. Well I don't want to tell you to much. You should read this book for yourself. I think you will really like this book.
