I love this CD, but I would suggest buying it with the book. The book has a wonderful (but some would call it mature) lullaby that isn't on the CD. It is for aborted babies, and one that cannot be sung.
Peaceful Christian Lullabies Jan 24, 2007
When Sleep Sound in Jesus by Michael Card was first released on cassette in 1989, our second child was just a baby, and it was a favorite of mine to play at bedtime for her and her 1-1/2yr old sister. The words to the songs touched me deeply. At some point several years later, the tape broke and it was immediately replaced with a new CD.
When our son was born in 1993, we also became 'Born-Again Christians' and had to include a quote from one of the songs on his birth announcement because it meant so much to us. The CD has been on camping trips and hotel stays to help the kids, and us fall asleep in unfamiliar places.
Now at ages 19, 18, and 13, I occasionally hear it coming from one of their rooms late at night. Knowing that they find peace in these Christian songs really blesses me as a mom.
I give this CD as a shower or new-baby gift on a regular basis.
Finally...it brings peace to the end of the day, just as God would want it!

This CD by Michael Card contains over an hour of peaceful lullabies for children and adults alike. My parents played this when I was little, and I am forever grateful. I hope to be able to play it for my own children some day.

I used to work at a Christian daycare center where there was a different room for every age group. I worked with with the infants and the ratio was four to one. (Me being the one.) Each day they all acted sleepy/cranky for a nap around 10am and I would play this cd, dim the room and take turns rocking them while the music put a peaceful feeling in the room. Before long, I had each one asleep in their own cribs. The other workers were always astonished to see this. I LOVE this cd and I'm actually online to buy one for our own home. Our children love listening to Michael Card's other lullaby cd "Close Your Eyes So You Can See" (also excellent). But the words and music to "Sleep Sound" cd are so uplifting, I can't say enough good things about it. Highly recommend it.
Transcending Tunes Jul 14, 2006
I initially was given this music when my children were very young. They are now all grown but the memory of rocking my babies in the wee small hours to the most uplifting and calming music stayed with me. I now give this as a gift to others I love who are looking forward to parenthood. I remember, not only did it provide a peaceful background for my children to drift into slumber, but it lifted me beyond the concerns of the day to thoughts of prayerful gratitude and internal expressions of praise to our Creator for the precious gift of life. I highly recommend.
