Reviews - What do our customers think?
Unbelievable Book!!!  Jun 28, 2007
This book is AWESOME! I literally couldn't put it down and have told everyone about it. I'm glad to finally know where the "Ark of the Covenant" rests. I hope it continues to stay preserved and protected until the day it is revealed again. All of Robert Cornuke's work is fascinating and seems very credible.
Gutsy, but not a well-documented account...  Jan 12, 2007
Having already read "The Sign & The Seal" by Graham Hancock, I was a little disappointed by the shallowness of the research in this book. Mr. Hancock's title has page upon page of bibliographies and extensive citations and goes into great detail. This book reads more like a short story. I also found the writing a bit "sophomoric" as a previous reviewer put it. Then again, this is a much shorter book that seems to be targetted towards a different audience so maybe I'm expecting steak at McDonald's.

What is good about this book, is that it comes across as a sincere re-telling and it is written with a Christian point-of-view that is correlated with scripture. I think Mr. Cornuke's conclusion at the end of the Ark section is very profound and exciting to consider. This interpretation alone made this book a worthwhile purchase for me.

Overall, it's an easy read and a quick introduction into the ark mystery, but falls a bit short of an exhaustively researched masterwork.
A REAL life INDANIA Jones  May 21, 2006
This is a Series of Stories from A Real life Indiana Jones; Cornuke is out in search of the Ark of the Covenant, the Real Mount Sini, the route of the Exodus, ancient Alters, Moses' cave and other artifacts from the Bible (it starts whit his search for Noah's Ark, but Cornuke has another book that details that series of searches better called Ark Fever-which I would highly recommend). His search is filled with adventure and danger. Many of these searches are in Hostile countries (Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia), with Governments hostile to Americans and hostile to Jewish People, Christians and anything dealing with the Bible. This would be a great book (or Audio book) for anyone who likes a good detective story or adventure story; the differences hear is its all true I won' go into what Cornuke finds or does not find I will leave that for you to read, lets just say some of the finds are very exciting. I would stay this would be a good book to give someone to get them interested in the bible.
A good adventure story, but not without its flaws  Aug 6, 2005
Though you wouldn't know it from looking at the cover, Relic Quest contains two different stories. They ought to be looked at separarely, as they're not of the same quality.
The first story follows Cornuke's search for the biblical Mt. Sinai. The writing is not fantastic, but that's the price we have to pay for a first-person account. This story is very exciting, so much that I checked more than once to verify that it really was non-fiction. Much of the evidence for his conclusion that Mt. Sinai is really Saudi Arabia's Jabal al-Lawz is very compelling. This story deserves four stars.
The second half of the book tells the story of how the author searched for the lost Ark of the Covenant. The writing style remains at about the same level, with awkward lines such as, "Joby, it took them twenty-five hundred years to build this unique island culture of repose and solitude - and we've wrecked it in just twenty minutes" inserted into people's mouths. The story nonetheless gets off to a promising start, only to crash and burn towards the end. Cornuke determines that the Ark is hidden inside a small church in Ethiopia without any conclusive evidence. He never sees the Ark; he is never given any reason to believe that the object in St. Mary's of Zion's Church is genuine. The lack of proof doesn't stop him from coming up with a very elaborate theory involving the Ethipoians someday bringing the Ark to Jerusalem as a gift for the returned Christ. This second story earns two stars.
Relic Quest is work taking a look at, but keep in mind that it's an adventure story, not the research of a biblical scholar.
Needs More Scientific Backup  Jul 16, 2005
While this is an adventure story, and that's why I bought it because of the intriguing title and cover, I was very disappointed. It is written in a sophomoric style that reminded me of the old Hardy Boys adventures. We have to believe everything he says as he says--with the Bible as the only sourse of reference. He needs backup from trained archaeologists who have worked in the field, in the Middle East, their whole lives.

Don't bother buying it anyone, unless you just like Bible stories.
