But the changes don't stop at skin-level. Inexplicably, he's able to affect objects around him by simply thinking about them. And as he soon learns, he's become the central figure in a vast web of intrigue that stretches from an underground global conspiracy to a prophecy dating back over seven thousand years. Reviews - What do our customers think?
The 5000 Cliffhangers of Dr. P  Jun 10, 2008
Although it's not wise to say too much about book one of a trilogy I must say at least a few things. For one I don't think I've ever read so many cliffhangers in one book in my entire life. Trying to get some sleep was almost impossible. The writing style is good but nothing outstanding, a bit choppy. The story is unique and the characters are either likable or you want to strangle them. There is confusion in the story but it's only book one so I'm sure things will all make sense in later books. The concept of the origin of the rings was incredibly interesting and I'm looking forward to more on the subject. The book is not overtly Christian and none of the characters are believers to our knowledge but there are Biblical principals and one other thing I you'll have to read to find out. I'm glad I waited to read this just before book three is to be released because I don't think I could handle the stress of waiting. Thanks to Steven Lawhead's The Song of Albion trilogy I always wait now until all three books are released.

1 Star = I've been robbed!
2 Stars = Why'd I finish it?
3 Stars = Good
4 Stars = Excellent
5 Stars = Life changing
Did no one else notice?  Nov 27, 2007
The parallels with the TV show Heroes? Or do just none of you watch it?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book is the reason for my 5 star review. Was there problems? I guess so but none of them bothered me,I'm sure Robin will only get better. I rate him with my favorite authors, Dean Koontz, Ted Dekker and Randy Alcorn because when I started this book I couldn't quit thinking about it until I finished it, it was hard to put down. Several people said something about the charachters not being likeable. To me they were, but maybe the author purposely made them ordinary so their struggle with their life changes and new found powers would be more relateable. I agreed with most of the positives of the other reviews but was struck by how many just gave it 3 or 4 stars but mentioned the were anxiously awaiting the rest of the series. I guess 4 is pretty good but when I like something this much I tend ot overlook it's shortcomings, it is that good a read! I just ordered the next book and can't wait for it to come in!
A great supehero, apocalyptic urban fantasy, sci-fi thriller!  Jul 6, 2007
Robert Parrish begins his impressive debut with a perfect hook: A man steps off a bus and sees himself across the street. Not someone who looks likes him, or a long-lost twin, but himself. As he chases himself, he catches his reflection in a storefront window and shockingly realizes that he is no longer himself. He has somehow become someone else.

The man with the identity crisis is Grant Borrows, and his world has been turned upside down. Not only is he inside a new body, but he is wearing a strange ring that he has never seen before. Soon Grant finds himself face to face with others who share his plight. Grant and his friends are known as the Loci, and each one possesses a unique ability. They must now work together to discover the meaning behind their transformations, all the while battling evil men who have set out to destroy them.

As Grant begins to uncover secrets he comes face to face with an overwhelming destiny. He is more than just a member of the Loci. He is The Bringer....the one who will lead the Loci and change the world forever. Grant must now decide if he will embrace this destiny as he struggles to uncover the truth behind all that has happened to him.

The beauty of Relentless is found in its own mysterious identity. Is this a superhero tale? Maybe an apocalyptic urban fantasy? How about a good ole' fashioned sci-fi thriller? Incredibly all of these elements are found here, and they all combine to form an exciting and entertaining read. The first of a trilogy, Relentless spends much of its time laying the framework for who and what Grant and his friends will become. Make no mistake about it though; the origins of these characters are intriguing to say the least.

These strong characters really sell the story. Grant Borrows is a reluctant hero, whose untapped power is bursting at the seams. Anticipating when Grant will embrace his potential is half the fun, and makes for a great payoff at the end. The supporting cast of characters more than hold their own, and their evolvement into heroes themselves is worth the ride.

No superhero, apocalyptic urban fantasy, sci-fi thriller would be complete without thrilling action sequences, and Parrish does not disappoint. There are car chases, fight scenes, explosions, and burning buildings galore. Eric Wilson mentioned in his review that this would make a fantastic graphic novel, and I couldn't agree more.

Robin Parrish is definitely one to watch. This is a wonderful beginning to what is sure to be an extraordinary series.
A fast-paced, original novel  Jun 27, 2007
The Thresher, the Keeper, the Bringer... Who are they, and what significance do they have? For Grant Borrows, that question must be answered - quickly.

Collin's day started out normally, but on his way to work, he suddenly finds himself in a strange place - another man's body. He doesn't even really realize it until he seems himself walking down the sidewalk to work! Suddenly, Collin has somehow "shifted" into Grant Borrows. His old life isn't his anymore, and his new one seems an odd fit.

He has a new body, a new car, a new house, a new face and a new name. He has new skills, too. Grant also has new threats. Suddenly, he seems to be a magnet for assassins! He's got to learn to protect himself, and his sister, before it is too late. And, to do that, he must find out who "shifted" him and why.

RELENTLESS is a fast-paced, thoroughly original novel. Author Robin Parrish has created an incredible world where almost anything can happen and no one can be trusted. Venturing into the fields of telekinesis and other mind-bending abilities, RELENTLESS has a plot as inexorable as the title and a storyline that spirals quickly toward a climactic conclusion. Parrish's characters are many and varied, with a reluctant hero and couple of incredibly evil villains.

RELENTLESS is the first book in the Dominion Trilogy, it will be interesting to see what Parrish reveals in the second book, FEARLESS, which is due to be released in July.
Non Stop Action, Intrigue, Mystery  Jun 23, 2007
Fast Paced action, intrigue, conspiracy, and uncanny events fill the pages of "Relentless." Robin Parrish's writing is compelling, addictive, and exciting.

An ancient secret society "the Secretum Six," the "Dominion Stone", and a group of super-powered people (the Loci) all play a part in the plot twists of this story of supernatural power, as the "Keeper" attempts to control the destiny of the world. Colin Boyd has been "shifted" to become Grant Borrows in order to become the "Bringer" and to fulfill his destiny in this adrenaline producing page turner.

Parish has created characters which divulge the good and evil in each of us, stirring the emotions of the reader from empathy, admiration, and respect, to anger, distrust, and revulsion.

Robin Parish primed the reader for his next book "The Fearless" in which Grant Borrows makes an amazing discovery, and realized it can only be resolved by unraveling the mystery of who he is. This is great writing by a gifted author.
