Item Description...
Nick Noble hadn't planned on being the prodigal son. But when his father dies and leaves half of Silver Buckle--the Noble family ranch--to Nick's former best friend, he must return home to face his mistakes, and guarantee that the Silver Buckle stays in the Noble family. Award-winning journalist Piper Sullivan believes Nick framed her brother for murder, and she's determined to find justice. But following Nick to the Silver Buckle and posing as a ranch cook proves more challenging than she thinks. So does resisting his charming smile. As Nick seeks to overturn his father's will--and Piper digs for answers--family secrets surface that send Nick's life into a tailspin. But there's someone who's out to take the Silver Buckle from the Noble family, and he'll stop at nothing--even murder--to make it happen.

Grace and Redemption  Oct 13, 2008
Reclaiming Nick will capture your attention and emotions from the very first sentence. Susan May Warren has created a thoroughly believable male lead in Nick Noble, a modern day prodigal son. Nick returns home after the death of his father intending to settle family financial business, not realizing that God has a plan for the trip that will exceed his expectations. Nick is a man who has faults and a strong personality, but he's a man who loves with all his heart and is protective of those he cares about. The reader shares both his mistakes and triumphs and is left with a smile at the end of the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed the location in which this novel was set. I've spent very little time out West, but after reading Reclaiming Nick, it seems like a familiar place. I loved reading the book and picturing the open landscape under the big starry sky. The setting drew the reader into the story and paralleled one of the themes in the book. Even in a wide open, predictable land, God can surprise you with a beautifully unexpected piece of creation, such as the spot on the Noble's land called "the Cathedral", Nick Noble's favorite place.

Susan May Warren makes you feel so close to the characters that you feel like you should join them around a campfire and share stories. They are real people who have pasts, hurts, and imperfections, but who learn to live out the hope of redemption offered in Christ. When the book ends, the reader feels as though the story has come to a satisfying conclusion, and yet believes that the characters will continue to live their lives long after the book is set down. It takes incredible skill to create characters that real.

If you're looking for a story that will make you laugh, draw you into the lives of the characters, and leave you with a clearer picture of God's grace, I highly recommend Reclaiming Nick. Head out to a bookstore; it's one to read again and again.
Well Developed story  Jul 31, 2008
I really enjoyed Reclaiming Nick. The characters were well thought out and the story was developed well. Nice cowboy, mystery, romance book. Just the right amount of romantic tension and mystery.
Reclaiming Love. . .  Mar 19, 2008
Nick Noble becomes a modern day prodigal son in Reclaiming Nick, Susan May Warren's first novel in her Noble Legacy Series. Not only is Nick Noble covering a wounded heart, he's also bitter at the turn of events concerning his family's ranch, The Silver Buckle. Heading home to right the wrongs he feels have been done to him, the wounds of his past are reopened.

Piper Sullivan is a woman undercover, following Nick home and posing as a ranch cook. Although she can't cook worth beans, she keeps up the farce hoping to force a confession from Nick's past cop days and the brother he put behind bars.

Between the high emotion, the attempts to right perceived wrongs, and the attraction between two unlikely people, comes a story of restoration. Susan May Warren writes a powerful story with characters that live and breathe.
Loved It!  Jan 14, 2008
This book was great! Although it didn't grab me as early as most of Warren's other books I have read, once it got going it was really great! She does such a great job of describing the ranch and life in Montana that it made me feel both like I was there and like I want to go there. And I especially liked that the main character isn't the typical perfect guy/night in shining armor that makes you look at your own husband afterwards and wonder why he can't be that great. Despite the realism of Nick, you can't help but love him and root for him. I definitely recommend it!
Good Book  Jan 3, 2008
I just finished Reclaiming Nick and looking forward to Rafe's story which I have on Pre-order. There is a good mystery and enough romance to make it a really rounded story. I'll have to say I had a hard time warming up to Piper and all her deceit even when Nick is sharing his feelings for the murder and how badly he felt that the wrong man had been convicted. She is still even then planning on using this against him. Actually I got more into the relationship of Maggie and Cole more that Nick and Piper.I appreciated the spiritual emphasis in the story and yet not overdone to the point of just being a preachy book. I'm a Christian so am not wanting to sound negative about that idea but it's just not why I read fiction at times. There are Christian authors that get so preachy, the book becomes very self righteous and I don't enjoy that as much in a book of fiction. I thought Susan Warren puts the right amount of the Spiritual along with the mystery and romance to just make it a good book. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 just because I didn't care for Piper's character even to the end of the book. Perhaps we'll hear more of her and Nick in Rafe's story and I'll change my mind about her.
