Overview
Through her online column for the Pretty Fishy Web site, Nicole Michelin meets Harrison Michaels, who lives in Japan, but when she attempts to avoid him, Harrison eventually reveals that he knew her as a child in Japan--where her parents were once missionaries.

Publishers Description
Nicole Michelin avoids airplanes, motorcycles, and most of all, Japan, where her parents once were missionaries. Something happened in Japan...something that sent Nicole and her father back to America alone...something of which Nicole knows only bits and pieces. But she is content with life in little Mount Olive, North Carolina, with her quirky relatives, tank of lively fish, and plenty of homemade pineapple chutney. Through her online column for the Pretty Fishy Web site, she meets Harrison Michaels, who, much to her dismay, lives in Japan. She attempts to avoid him, but his e-mails tug at her heart. Then Harrison reveals that he knew her as a child in Japan. In fact, he knows more about her childhood than she does...

Reviews - What do our customers think?
Good read  Apr 22, 2010
I enjoyed the book. It is obvious that Alice knows what she is talking about since she's lived in Japan. I am an avid reader and enjoy being able to read Christian fiction. I plan to read more of Alice's books!

One of the best!  Apr 18, 2010
How I loved this book Rain Song- not only a "feel-good'Story, but one I wanted to share with others. Rain Song touched all the right buttons for a lovely read- got me involved, did'nt want the story to end and so on.I was after an escape, and Rain Song provided that. So I strongly recommend this author for what she has written and look forward to her next story!

Great Read!  Apr 12, 2010
This book was a real treat to read. I opened it up and couldn't put it down! The characters were vivid and real. The story kept me guessing and wanting to find out what happened next. I loved the book so much, I went right out and bought Wisler's next book "How Sweet It Is" (which is just as good).

Wonderful book  Mar 23, 2010
With the world so fast pased and stressful, this book was very relaxing and enjoyable. The Characters were funny and believable because they mirrored real people I know in my life. The minute I finished it I ordered her next book!

Rain Song  Aug 13, 2009
Nicole Michelin is a middle school English teacher in her thirties. She was born in Japan to missionary parents, but her mother died when she was a young child and her father, who suffers from depression, never talks about it. He raised her in North Carolina where Nicole currently lives. She is very close to her grandma Ducee and her best friend Grable.

Nicole runs a website where she gives out help and info about caring for fish. A man named Harrison Michaels from Japan emails her one day and the two begin corresponding through email on a daily basis. As the story goes on, Nicole finds herself falling for Harrison and asks him for a photo, which he happily sends to her. But shortly after, Nicole doesn't get an email from Harrison for a few days. She wonders what is wrong. Then one day, Harrison emails her a single line:
'Nicole, my mother remembers the night you were born.'
Nicole herself knows little about her mother, yet always wonders and misses her dearly.
Stunned, Nicole realizes Harrison's mother must have known her own mother. She decides she needs to overcome her fear of flying and go to Japan to search out answers.

I thought Rain Song was a touching read. I found myself wanting Nicole to overcome her fears, hop on the plane to Japan, find out about her mother and find Harrison.
