Reviews - What do our customers think?
Solid album, one of my favorites!  Mar 8, 2007
I had not heard of Snow Patrol until I heard "Chasing Cars" on the radio, and I bought their cd on a whim. I must say I was not dissapointed. The only reason for 4/5 stars is that a couple of the songs seemed a little off to me. But that is only a couple of songs. You will love this album.
Absolutely stunning!  Mar 6, 2007
This is IMO, Anberlin's strongest album. The only average song on this album, ironically, is the title track. Every other song is stunning and single worthy.

Best CD I've ever heard...  Feb 19, 2007
To start with, my music tastes are quite different from a ton of people out there. Most trendy music these days I find to be absolutely horrible - i.e., pop, rock, and rap. My favorite music genres are videogame soundtracks and techno/electronica, probably because they are generally free of lyrics. I also tend to like anything instrumental due to the same thing. This said, I also am a fairly large fan of classic rock, Pink Floyd, Foreigner, Journey, The Police, etc.

Now that I've conveyed my general musical interests, you have an idea of where the review is coming from. My friend made me listen to yet another band in his car one day and I sighed and said "whatever". About 20 minutes later, I wanted to know the name of the band that played "that song", which happened to be "We Dreamt in Heist" from Anberlin's first CD (Blueprints for the Black Market). I proceeded to check out the entirety of Blueprints that evening and shockingly discovered that a mainstream rock band had taken my musical tastes by storm! Anberlin's sound is so amazing, and for some reason so unique from other rock artists out there these days, and it really hit the spot.

A few weeks later, I got my hand on this CD, Never Take Friendship Personal, and at first I found myself going back to Blueprints for the Black Market. However, a few months later here I am, and I have decided this disc is my favorite not only of Anberlin's, but of any collection of music I have ever heard.

I highly recommend this CD, and in particular Dance, Dance Christa Paffgen. If at first you don't love these songs, listen a couple more times and I guarantee you'll be singing them in the shower. ;)
Great Album  Feb 8, 2007
I really like this cd a lot and I am looking forward to seeing them live.
A Heavy-Hearted Work of Staggering Genius  Jan 17, 2007
Well maybe that's putting it a bit strongly, but I quite enjoy this CD. It's a perfect blend of intelligent lyrics and great sound. The title soung, Never Take Friendship Personal starts off with a well-paced dose of rock to get the CD going, then slows down a bit for Paperthin Hymn where the lyrics take over and really put out the meaning. Stationary Stationery is not one of my favorites, but fits in well enough as a third title. Symphony of Blase is quite slow, but it's a great ballad in the middle of the harder-edged stuff and doesn't disappoint. A Day Late picks up from Blase to fade into the Runaways, which has a good sound and easily remembered lyrics. Time and Confusion winds down a bit in terms of speed, but does well with the meaning of its lyrics and readies for the Feel Good Drag, my personal favorite. It's hard and fast, and has the same great lyrics as the others.

Audrey, Start the Revolution seems to have a title that doesn't go incredibly well with its meaning, but is yet another five-star song nonetheless. A Heavy Hearted Work of Staggering Genius is... okay. Though I don't know where the title came from with it being just a simple instrumental. It closes the CD off well for the last song, though. Dance, dance, Christa Paffgen is a seven minute song that mixes an even pace with some of my favorite lines ever in a song. It's not the best of the album, but it's a fine way to finish off an excellent CD.

Overall I believe this is a great CD and well worth the money since you can easily get it on this site used and cheap.
