Reviews - What do our customers think?
Too religious!  May 26, 2010
Don't get me wrong -- there's nothing wrong with religion. It's just that this book went above and beyond. It was like a 200+ page sermon, and I think it detracted from the story as a whole. I wanted it to be a bit more of a mystery, but instead all it was for me was one long, borderline boring Christian sermon shoved at me.
Interesting and unbelievable story...  May 25, 2010
This book is both sad and joyous. The story itself is quite unbelievable and that's what makes this book a page turner. I couldn't put it down and actually read it from cover to cover in less than 2 days. I felt it was a little too heavy on the Christian aspect but it's clear that both families have a strong faith which was what got them through the tragedy and it's aftermath.

The book was a good and fast read however, I don't think I'll ever fully comprehend how the Van Ryns could spend every single day for 5 straight weeks with Whitney as she recovered thinking she was actually their daughter, Laura. I do see how it may have been difficult to know during the first few days when Whitney was kept in a low-light ICU setting but once she was moved to a regular room I feel like it should have been obvious. Both Whitney and Laura do have striking physical similarities, HOWEVER, I just can't fathom how a mother could NOT know her own child or a sibling could NOT know her own sister. I guess I will never understand that piece of this story.
Their faith is awe-inspiring  May 8, 2010
This book was written by the families involved in the much-publicized, tragic incident in which two college students involved in a car accident were mistakenly identified for one another. One girl was killed in the accident; the other survived, but was in a coma for many weeks. For five weeks, one family kept a constant vigil at their daughter's bedside, only to discover that she was not, in fact, their daughter. The other family memorialized, buried, and grieved for their daughter, then learned five weeks later that she was alive.

Both families tell of the incredible outpouring of love, support and prayer that family, friends, and strangers provided. Their deep faith and trust in God enable them to gracefully cope with these almost unimaginable events. The grace with which these families deal with this tragedy is truly awe-inspiring.
Mistaken Identity  Feb 21, 2010
This book is truly amazing! It shows how God works in miraculously ways. Yes, it was tragic for both families but God helped them through their hard times. I can never even imagine what they went through and I'm not pretending to but the way the two families wrote this book is very elegant and well written. I'm glad that they decided to write this book and show how God works. Also, I hope and pray that this book is used as a healing tool not only for themselves but for other families who have lost loved ones.
book  Feb 6, 2010
I am normally not a big reader, but I purchased this book. This was a book that I could not put down. A great inspirational book, of how two Christian families deal with death of a child, their personal thoughts, of this great terrifying experience in their lives. I would highly recommend this book.
