A Closer Walk With Thee  Aug 17, 2008
Locksie is raised by her mother in a God-fearing home, and dragged from church to church whenever her mother feels a change is needed. But when Locksie becomes an adult, she leaves the church and decides to live her life as she sees fit. She is a manager, hairstylist, and a Mary Kay representative and to Locksie, her life is good. She has the love of her live-in boyfriend Dawson, a fitness trainer, and her favorite aunt Mary. Aunt Mary is a Christian who plays an important role in Locksie's new walk with God and through their daily visits, Locksie learns that God wants to have an intimate relationship with us and that He wants us to submit ourselves to Him.

Locksie begins to notice changes in her thoughts and actions, but can't explain it. Dawson begins to notice too and it puts a wedge between them. She feels the intimate moments between them are sinful and needs someone to talk to. Hannah is one of Locksie's clients and a good friend, so she shares her feelings with Hannah, but Hannah has issues of her own at home. Hannah's husband, Elkan brought "baby mama drama" into their marriage. She is trying to forgive him and be a good stepmother, but she is really struggling with it; especially since she's been trying to conceive since their wedding night.

ME, MYSELF AND HIM is a reflective read. Both women ask what do you do when the people you love are not in that same walk with you? Do you stay with them or do you let them go? Locksie and Hannah faced these tough decisions while they were just beginning to find faith, trust and a new love. In reading ME MYSELF AND HIM, I saw some of myself in Locksie. Also, in different areas in the book I felt E. N. Joy was speaking about me. ME, MYSELF AND HIM is a fast-paced read, with believable characters and situations, and a message that God will deliver on time.

GOD Aint Into Threesomes  Jul 22, 2008
This is my first Urban Christian book, and I am very pleased to say I could not have picked a better one to start with. Author E.N. Joy really kept me captivated in the novel. She had me feeling as if Locksie's struggles were my own.

Meet Locksie, a young woman with a live in boyfriend Dawson. They have a love that is so strong and unconditional, that it should be the envy of others in a struggling relationship or single person. Things start to change when Locksie starts to have an internal struggle. Unable to shake the feelings that are causing problems in her relationship, they both seek advice. Locksie from her Christian Aunt Mary, who after many talks finally gets her to commit to going to church with her. Locksie is no stranger to church as she grew up in the church with her overbearing Christian mother. Her mother's ways and views on church have left a bad taste in Locksie's mouth to say the least.

Dawson is a handsome young man with a good head on his shoulder. His love for Locksie is evident in all he does. His problem is he doesn't know how to handle this change going on with her. The person he goes to for advice is his younger brother Drake.Low and Behold, Drake is also a Christian leaving Dawson feeling as if he is getting the "holier than thou" from every angle.

Hannah is an acquaintance of Locksie's, whom is dealing with the fact that her husband has done the unforgivable. He went out and had an affair with Peni which resulted in the birth of a child. Now Peni is the most self-centered person around and has lots of fun taunting Hannah with the fact that she has not been able to give her own husband a child.

Through events that take place in this fast moving novel, Hannah and Locksie deal with trials and tribulations that make them share a bond, they become real friends and share a sisterhood.

Praises to E.N. Joy for making me a believer that an Urban Christian book can be just as enjoyable as the typical urban book that I love to read. Me, Myself and Him did not lack for the story line I was looking for. This book has a great story of the struggle between right and wrong. It also has the deceit, underhanded ways of people in general, the trust issues, the cheating, the character Peni you will love to hate, and of course some shockers had me yelling at the book "what in God's name are you doing?".

E.N. Joy keep up the great work and I looking forward to reading your next Urban Christian book.

Tug of Love  Jun 3, 2008
Locksie and Dawson met three years ago and have been a serious item since. But lately another man has embraced Locksie; and his unconditional love has caused Locksie to have doubts that are threatening to come between her and Dawson!

Locksie was no stranger to church as her mother and Aunt Mary were devoted Christians, but her mother was always citing scriptures instead of mother/daughter conversations; this pushed Locksie closer to her Aunt Mary who at least kept it real.

Trying to wash away the sin of fornication in the shower wasn't working anymore and Locksie felt the need to follow her heart which now belongs to God.
Dawson saw the change in Locksie and wasn't happy about it. He was sure of her love and he loved her too; so why can't she stay with the program and do what lovers do? Bringing this question to his younger brother Drake was no help as Drake was also a man of God, dealing with his own daily fight against sin.
Locksie and Dawson's relationship run into trouble as each try to understand the changes that are evident in Locksie but both disagree on what to do about it.

Hannah and her husband Elkan have been unsuccessfully trying to have a baby for years. Elkan has an affair which results in a son. Hannah has to come to terms with this, along with dealing with her stepson's mother Peni; who throws the fact that she's Elkan's ONLY baby mother in Hannah's face every chance she gets!

Hannah and Locksie are confidants who are struggling on their walk with Christ. But what they don't know is that their worlds are going to collided making each woman come to a decision they hope they can live with.

An excellent Christian debut by this seasoned author.
E.N Joy made a giant leap from penning popular secular novels to listening to her soul and moving to the next level in her career.

I am sure all her fans will take this enlightening walk along and continue to enjoy her work as I have.

Thank you Ms Joy, you've done my name proud in this excellent novel of a woman's journey to follow her heart.

Christian Fiction in Fabulous Form!  May 21, 2008
I was surfing this on what books to buy, and by chance I happened upon "Me, Myself and Him by E.N. Joy. I was hooked, line and sinker by the first page of this delightful book. What drew me to this book was the mention of God and the many scriptures that empowered me. I felt like I was having a relationship with God by reading about him, and thinking about my actions along with the character of Locksie. I could relate to this character in finding herself, and trying to figure out where she belongs. She was living with Dawson, and, of course, sinning according to her aunt, who was trying to save her soul. Is Dawson saved? Can Dawson understand Locksie's plight with God? What is Dawson's relationship with God? I got to know Dawson, and some of the surprising elements of the man were very interesting.

When Locksie lost her aunt in a fire, she began to look at God in another light, wondering why he would take her precious aunt. Locksie went on a crusade to understand the pain in her life, and the reasons why bad things happened. Locksie finds more than she can handle when she decides to give God a chance once again.

Hannah is Locksie's friend, and she struggles on her own to find herself, and the two have a lot in common with each other. This book was a page-turner. I found myself not going to sleep because I didn't want to put the book down. I was late for work, but it was worth it.

This is a fast-paced novel which is why I couldn't stop reading it. The message I found in the book was that you have to sacrifice a lot of things in your life by letting go, and knowing that God is the ultimate prize. It brought home a few facts to me also.

I am checking out E.N. Joy other's books. She's a very prolific writer, and she's very talented. The book was inspirational and mind-boggling to the soul. I enjoyed this book, I loved it, I understood it, I couldn't put it down, and I am hungry for more. Great job, Ms. Joy, and please keep on writing.
Every now and again you come across a book that makes you ponder the reality of purpose. Me, Myself & Him is one such work. In her debut Christian novel, E.N. Joy has done a good job of reaching out to those who can truly identify with the inner struggles of life.

Locksie has a great relationship with her live-in boyfriend Dawson who daily assures her of his undying love. Through her close relationship with her Aunt, Locksie is daily informed of the unconditional love God has for her. Conflicting messages and lifestyle set off an internal tug-of-war within Locksie as she seeks to determine which is the greater love.

Dawson too is in a struggle - the struggle to lead a life deviod of outside interference. Recognizing the changes in Locksie as well as receiving unwanted advice from his younger brother does little to shine light on the future he envisioned. Add to this an eclectic supporting cast and you are placed in the passenger's seat for Locksie's journey to understand who she is and what she will and will not accept from family, friends and lovers.
