Reviews - What do our customers think?
The complete prayer book on the Blessed Virgin Mary, A spirtual handbook as well.  Oct 5, 2005
Books from Medjugorje to Fatima to Lourdes and Guadelupe to Apologetics and Consecration books and even a Marian dictionary grace the shelves of bookstores and libraries; but I think this one is the best....

Written by the prolific Divine Word Missionary Lawrence Lovasik, before we even get to the treasure that lies within the book, the book as a sort of flexible imitation-leather vinyl slip on cover which makes it handy in all kinds of weather and the inside pockets of the book slip on cover are transparent, thus an ideal place to put Holy Cards or even some other devotional materials. Adding on to that, it has a long strand book marker like you see in many Bibles that is threaded into the binding itself so you can always find where you left off.

The book is divided into 5 different major parts.

In part 1 of the book, listed are Liturgical Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) throughout the year in chronological order, there are about 18 of these feasts and yes, some of them overlap into the life of God, Jesus Christ, the son of Mary like Christmas but other dates do deal mainly with Mary and make up a chapter of about 3 parts... for example, for the feast day of Our Lady of Lorudes, February 11th, the "Doctrine" is discussed which I would say is the basic story of the event, the following section is "the Church speaks" thus granting us guidance on the event in question, a sort of interpretation and lastly the Chapter closes with Prayers for each of these Holy days, and sometimes preceding the prayer is a Hymn. Even with some Feastdays, Liturgical prayers are given. Though I mentioned above as an example Lourdes, some Feast days mentioned are strictly Biblical, such as the Annuciation for March 25 and others. This first part is both educational and inspirational as we find throughout the year, reasons to celebrate the Mother of God as well as reassurance that she is with us.

Part 2 of the book constitutes Saint's Prayers to Our Lady. About 20 such prayers are mentioned.

The content of this book is rather voluminous even if only 240 pages....

Part 3 consists of some special devotions to Mary, including Prayers to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Queen of the Rosary and others.

Part 4 consists of Gemeral Prayers and many well known at that including St. Bernard's Memorare, Hail Holy Queen and Antiphons for Advent, Lent and Easter and closes out with a Litany well known and a fitting conclusion to this part.

The last part, part 5 is titled "The Scriptural Rosary" and excels in not only giving us the prayers of the Rosary but giving a scriptural reference for each Hail Mary of each mystery (alas in this case, some references to "Church tradition" are given for some of the orations).

Humbly but well illustrated also, this book was first published on December 8th, 1954 and is very Orthodox as well, coming out before Vatican II.

This book is most reasonably priced and is probably by far, the most useful book on Mary the Mother of God, a true devotional for all.
