Reviews - What do our customers think?
Delightful and Fun  Mar 1, 2007
I thought that this book was very charming and definately fun. The author did a really good job of describing the city so much that I had a very clear view of the atmosphere and the people. Yes, the story is predictable and the lead was annoying at times... but I found her well rounded and I could see the things that Adrien saw in her. Adrien was a God send to this book. He perfectly balanced the lead without falling into the backround. The author did well in showing us the different sides of his personality considering that in first person it's usually hard to see the love interest in a complete light.
I loved mostly everything about this story, even the predicatable parts because I loved the characters enough to want to see it unfold. Though, I would have liked to see the author resolve some of the many questions she posed in the story line for why the lead couldn't stay.
Anywho, there's my two cents.
Too Obvious  Jan 23, 2007
This book was a quick and easy read and at times is delightful. However, I knew by the second chapter how the book was going to end. And, chapter after chapter, the book dragged on and on to what I accurately predicted was the ending.
I'm Obviously In The Minority Here...  Jan 19, 2007
But I couldn't get into Kissing Adrien at all... it started well - girl goes to Paris to sort out dead great aunt's apartment that has been left to her parents in her will. She's fleeing what is obviously a dead end relationship and needs to revamp her life a bit... enter Adrien... childhood friend (but older).. witty, handsome, charming and seemingly determined to get her to learn to enjoy life and live a bit more in the moment. Clare's also been in love with him on one level or another since she was about ten years old.

A promising premise and set in Paris gave it a lot of room for some creative licence... but to be honest not only did Clare fall flat but so did many of the supporting characters as well. Adrien was definitely a highlight but by the end I was so annoyed with Clare that I was almost to the point of wanting to tell him to give up and go find someone else because she didn't deserve him!

Personally I found that the plot dragged and the book probably could have been about 50 pages shorter without really losing anything.

Having said that it isn't a dead loss - there are definitely some moments of great writing that are believable and made me laugh - just don't go into it with high expectations!
Can I go to Paris for real now?   Sep 17, 2006
I loved this book so much, except that it made me want to book a flight to Paris as soon as I'd finished it! Claire and Adrien's adventures in the City of Lights will have you yearning to picnic beside the Seine, take in the view from La Tour Eiffel, and fall madly in love with a handsome Frenchman. I've never liked chick-lit, Christian or not, until now. C'est magnifique!
Outstanding-loved it! A must read  Sep 16, 2006
I enjoyed every minute of this book. It was passionate without being explicit and I didn't want to put it down. You will really enjoy the book. The best I've read in a long time. I'd give it 10 stars.
