My Kavik the Wolf Dog Review  May 6, 2010
I love the book Kavik because it has lots of action and adventure. My favorite part is when Kavik fights another wolf over a female. If you like action, adventure, and books about animals this is definitely the book for you. I would reccomend this book to 4th and up because it has challenging words and it would be too hard for a third grader. I like Kavik because it kept me on the edge of my seat, and kept me wanting to read more. If you read this book and you like it, you should read Gentle Ben which is by the same author. It's about a boy who befriends a bear. It's a really good book.
ONE WORD - AWESOME! I was in forth grade when i first read this book and it opened for me the incredible love of reading animal adventure stories. I was hooked and ever since. Walt Morey is an exceptional author and knows how to write, using the english language like sweet butter on bread. The plot is enthralling from page one and holds you until the very last page. You want more and hope that he has written more capturing novels. Every author has his/her own style, but few can repeatedly write books that hold a rare treasure in each one - that's what makes a classic. This is an adventure/action/drama you want to be a part of and this wolf-dog will stop at nothing to uphold his loyalty to a boy that gave him love.
Weston from lake tapps says,''this is a great book''  Nov 4, 2009

Eeerrr! Snarls Kavik as he fights for his mate. The book Kavik the wolf dog by Walt Morey has adventure and a great story of a dog that loves his owners. Read the 192 page book to find out if he can get back to his owners over the hundred miles of ocean. Seams impossible but can he do it go find out.
In the book Kavik the wolf dog gets beat when he is a pup. But it makes him tough so he gets to be the lead dog of a sled dog in the North American sled dog race. But when he is bought by a man named MR. Hunter and is flown to Seattle when the plan crashes. He is stranded until a boy named Andy finds him while he hunts his trap line. He immediately falls in love with Kavik and katers to his ever need until he is healthy again. MR. Hunter takes kavik home but gets locked in a small cage and the only excises he gets is a walk ever know and then until he escapes. Will he get home I won't tell you.
My favorite part of the book is when Kavik gets recued and is free. I like this part because it stops all the suffering and pain Kavik was taking. It also starts a life that has ups and downs and even more suffering and love. Kavik gets to eat after he is saved and I got really happy. That is why it is the favorite part of the book.
The most important thing I learned from reading this book is that an animal that loves his owner can never be broken
Some other books that are like this book are sandy and the rock star. A good dog and a dog's life.
My recommendation for this book is read it in a second like now so get the book.

I read this book when I was about 12 or 13, it was soo good that I actually read it 3 times. I highly recomend this book to anyone who likes adventure.
The Greatest Book I've Ever Read...  Jun 6, 2007
This book is about a dog named Kävik who gets in a air plane crash and survives but the crude doesn't and a boy named Andy finds this wolf-like dog abandon from the plane crash and saves him but Kävik is very badly injured with broken rids and his back left leg. The doctor of the town called Copper City fixes Kävik.

This book takes place in Alaska. Kävik gets taken away from is loving family. My favorite part of this book was when Kävik finds his way back to his way back up north through impossible Glaciers and rugged trine and had to travel 2000 miles to find his loving family in Copper City. In the book the Theme I personal think its never give up hope cause Kävik never gave up hope on finding his family even with a dislocated hip didn't stop Kävik . I liked all the hard ships Kävik had to go through like fighting another wolf to win his mate (who dies in the book) and traveling 2000 miles I would change nothing.
