Item Description...
Investigative journalist Mark Taylor has landed the story of his career-an interview with Ahmad Hani Sa'id, the coldhearted leader of a new terrorist network striking the U.S.A. Considered a religious freedom fighter by his countrymen-and the devil himself to the rest of the world-Sa'id will allow no western journalists to interview him-except Mark. Mystified as to why this would be, Mark heads off to Syria, leaving his wife at home pregnant with their first child. Then the CIA steps in, insisting that Mark allow one of their agents to pose as a camera operator in hopes of capturing the elusive Sa'id. But when ther CIA's ruse is revealed, Mark is taken hostage, tortured and beaten. Now this Christian's only hope lies in God's sovereign hands-and in the heart of the terrorist's nephew, a devout Muslim man Mark befriended during the Gulf War. But will that be enough when worldviews collide?

Not what I expected  May 30, 2007
The book got here quickly so good for this site. I missread the author and ordered the wrong book. There is a different "interview with the devil" which is a lot more interesting. This book is anti-islamic propaganda. It's written by some crazy christian writer. If you don't care about religious wars then don't waste your time. It was 100 pages too long.
fun read- but informative?  Mar 17, 2006
This book was entertaining like a blockbuster movie- a pageturner. But I am horrified that people ignorant about Islam are getting their "information" from such an inaccurate and inflammatory source.
Great book!  Mar 2, 2006
I love Jacobsen's style. I received this book in 2003, from the author and read it shortly after that. It helped me see a different perspective on why we are at such odds with parts of the muslim world. It, as with all of his books, held my attention in the same way that John Grisham novels do. The exception, is that Jacobsen writes from the same world-view position that I hold..which makes it all the better. A great book that teaches you some about the Muslim and Christian religions while also being very entertaining!
Superb!  Mar 17, 2005
'Interview with the Devil' is a superb work of fiction.

It combines edge of your seat action with a close look at the differences between Islam and Christianity. The conflicts between journalist 'ethics' and being pro American are also explored here in a thought provoking way.

The story is about a TV journalist who is invited to interview the world's leading terrorist. Mark Taylor is a reporter who was formerly a Recon Marine. When he is asked to conduct the interview, the CIA attempts to recruit him to assist them to take out the thug.

During the course of events, there are several other sub plots at work here including terrorist threats domestically, Taylor's relationship with his wife, and his Christianity.

Clay Jacobsen has managed to skillfully weave a Christian perspective into a battle with Islamic extremists while conducting a class on comparative religion.

This is a novel that a reader will certainly not regret reading. I haven't read any of Clay Jacobsen's other books, but I certainly plan to do so.
Powerful and real  Nov 25, 2004
In INTERVIEW WITH THE DEVIL, Clay Jacobsen takes you inside the mind and culture of Middle Eastern terrorists. It's a fast-paced action-adventure tale with a point to make. You'll be absorbed in the drama--but you'll also gain a better understanding of the world we live in and the challenges Western civilization faces from Middle Eastern extremists.
