Item Description...
Could Allie risk everything to find him--a father she thought she'd lost forever?

Just three weeks before she walks down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams, Allie Wilson stumbles across a photo of her long-lost father. In spite of her mother's warning and her fiancé's growing impatience, Allie can't shake the strange urgency she feels. She has to find her father . . . now. Is it simple a case of bridal nerves? Is it her curiosity, her conscience, her father's wish that spurs her on? Or is it something deeper?

Risking everything, Allie joins the handsome, charming Chase Mason in a cross-country search for the father she never knew. But is she following a call from God, or tracking a bitter heartache better left untouched? And what does it all mean for Allie's impending marriage? All Allie knows is that she has a lot of questions--and there's only one man who can give her the answers.

A touching story!  Apr 30, 2006
Allie Wilson is 33 and only weeks from marrying Trey Thompson. While sorting out her belongings one day, she finds an old photograph of the father who left her and her mother when she was four years old. Allie realizes that she doesn't know anything about the man who gave her life, other than that he returned from Vietnam with troubles enough to last a lifetime.

Allie is compelled to search for her father and his history, and does so without telling her mother, and in defiance of her finance's wishes. Her search brings her in contact with those who knew her father and includes the charming Chase Mason, who believes God's hand was in their meeting.

Allie is confused about her motives in searching for her father. She considers that it might be simple curiosity, or perhaps it is God's will. All she knows for sure is that she must follow his trail, no matter the cost. And the cost might be high. She could lose her fiancee and her dreams. But she might find answers and perhaps her faith.

One man, will abandon her and another will guide her, no matter the personal cost because the outcome is after all, really in God's hands.

Her Daddy's Eyes is a poignant story of beginnings, endings, faith, forgiveness and reconciliation. It will touch your heart and you will consider the truth that God's way is the right way.

Armchair Interviews says: We highly recommend this touching story.

Her Daddy's Eyes  Apr 26, 2006
As her wedding approaches, Allie discovers an old picture of her father, a man who abandoned herself and her mother after returning home from Vietnam. Over her mother's and fiancee's objections, Allie feels compelled to try and find the man, and at least get some sense of closure. Her quest leads her to Chase, a young man who considers her dad to be an uncle of the heart, and whose parents hold the key to Allie's past. Chase may be the key to her future. It becomes clear rapidly that he is a believer, something Allie has never really been. She is as curious to know more about Chase's faith as about him. Is she prepared to pay the cost of truth?

*** This book effectively delivers both a good story and good message. The witness and sense of destiny conveyed in this novel are subtle and profound. The message is not overly preachy, but it is effective. It would be a great gift from a believer to an unsaved friend. ***
strong coming of age tale   Apr 4, 2006
Her wedding to nice Trey Thompson is less than a month away when Allie Wilson finds a "buried" picture of her father, who abandoned his daughter and his wife once he returned from Nam. Ignoring her mother's plea to forget her dad and just marry the perfectly acceptable Trey, Allie considers searching for father to ask him why. Trey also wants her to forget this foolishness, but turning obstinate, Allie feels obsessed to meet her father.

Her trek to find her father leads Allie to Chase Mason, who loves her dad as if he was his blood uncle. She soon believes his parents know the truth though they seem reluctant to tell her. Still she needs to know even as she is curious over Chase's strong faith as she has had none since the dad she does not remember deserted her.

Though Allie's sudden obsession prompted by the old photo seems off kilter for her at this juncture in her life, readers will enjoy her desire to search for her paternal roots and an even greater need to find a reason for being. The latter is what leads her initially to feel a fascination for Chase, who is a firm believer in God. Gary E. Parker avoids preaching as he portrays a coming of age tale starring a bewildered woman seeking allegedly her biological father, but really questing for something deeper and spiritual.
