Item Description...
The Hebrew Prophecies Of The Coming of Paul, is a critical analyst of the teachings of the prophets, in light to Paul's ministry. It shows the very purpose of the coming of the Holy Spirit and the signpost by which all can know if they themselves are walking into all truth. Filled with historical information from the period between the prophets and the gospel, which sets the table that Yehoshva of Nazareth sat at in his discorses with the religious establishment of those days. It shows where Paul fits into all this, by the many ancient prophecies spoken of concerning his role in those times and our times as well.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
Uncomfortably rough, but many insightful points  Dec 12, 2008
Cossette shows how Paul never separated himself from the religious establishment of his day and continued as the enemy of the followers of Yehoshva after his 'conversion.' He uses prophecies from Genesis, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Daniel and other books to illuminate Paul's purpose. He points out that, in opposition to Yehoshva who saw through the Pharisees' man-made religion, "Paul never makes the distinction between the Law of Moses and Gamaliel's teaching." Paul claimed that as a Pharisee he was blameless according to the law, and thus revealed himself as 'the lawless one' of Daniel, the one Messiah warned against in Matthew 24:15.

Cossette presents a strong case that the Maccabean Revolt introduced a Benjamin-based paganism into Israel that Yehoshva continually preached against. The Jewish holidays of Purim and Hanukkah were observed, fitting the pagan fertility cycle, while the rightful leadership was in exile in Qumran. The Gospel of Luke, compiled by Paul's disciple, is addressed to most excellent Theophilus. Cossette argues that he was high priest at the time Luke wrote. He shows how Luke's account is biased towards Paul's false gospel, incorporating the Mythology of Zeus.

I appreciate the distinction made between the Jesus Paul preached and the Hebrew Messiah. Paul's Jesus is shown to be a reinstated worship of the idol Nehushtan (2 Kings 18:4) as Paul glories in the cross (Galatians 6:14). Cossette writes that rather than Yehoshva becoming a curse for us as Paul preaches (Colossians 3:3), "Yehoshva did nothing to deserve death, either Yehoshva is the blameless Lamb of God or he is accursed."

Unfortunately this book is neither well-written nor well-edited. Most English grammar rules are continually broken. This is quite distracting, and should be corrected in the next edition. This book also fails to flow well. I found myself searching for references and texts that were not to be found when needed. Cossette makes no attempt to use footnotes or to cite historical references.

I also find that Cossette sometimes uses Scripture translations of his own, without any justification. In his first chapter, 'The parable of the wheat and the tares,' he uses "wheat and thorns" in the text. This chapter is largely a diatribe against Messianic believers. His thesis is that the Law of Moses allows unclean foods to be eaten. He supports this stand by somehow misquoting the Hebrew in Deuteronomy 12:17, as "...the unclean and the clean you may eat..."

Even with its faults, this little book has five stars worth of insights. For one raised in Christianity, I find works like this one help expose the scandal. In several ways I will be reading the Bible differently now.

One of the essentials  Apr 23, 2007
I consider Thomas L. Cossette's "Hebrew Prophecies of the Coming of Paul" one of the essential works for those who are open minded enough to explore into the truth concerning Paul, and are searching for the evidences.
