This is a great book. I have given this to others who really don't have an accurate knowledge base on what occurs in the afterlife. It's easy to read and understand. I think loved ones whom you may be praying for would like this product.

Feel Good About Dying Disregarding Truth  Oct 25, 2009
I found this book to be less of discussion of the after life and more of a "So you are going to die..." book. Meaning, the author makes the afterlife seem like a perfect place where we will all go eat ice cream the rest of our days and "live" happily ever after. It's a feel-good about your death book.

I was hoping this would be an ACTUAL discussion about the after life. You know, open minded view of all the possible endings based on all religious texts. Here's a few issues i had:

-Christian based-
Apparently the author believes Christianity is the only real religion. There's no consideration for other prophets, other religions despite them all supposedly coming from God. I didn't know exploring what the afterlife meant having a biased approach.

-No Hell-
The book says there is a hell however it's not for humans. It never bothers to quote any of the places in the bible that states who will go to hell. it just says "hell is for the demons and satan." What?? How about this..

"Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

The bible obviously states in many different places that certain people can never enter Heaven yet this author ignores that completely. It mentions the possibility of ending there could happen but to the point where it is so unlikely, it's more of a "god loves us all regardless of what sins we commit" viewpoint. While in reality the bible states MOST people will never enter Heaven. That the path to Heaven is straight and narrow, few take that path.

-No Reincarnation -
Once again, a very Christian mindset. The reason he says there is none is because we must fear an eternal end. It couldn't possibly be that there was a purpose to return or that we needed to return to learn more lessons in life. After all isn't it said Jesus will return? Might not prove reicarnation from a christian view point however i think it's worth discussing as if it is possible. Not the other way around.

-Sex in the Afterlife- Really?
Well not exactly. The author states that there will be no need for marriage which i do agree with since marriage seems to serve the purpose of bearing children. However it then goes on to say that "i could not be without my wife/husband nor go on without sex" so thus there must be some kind of "replacement" for sex. I guess the author forgot about the "death do us part" deal. As well sex being for reproduction. Humans invented birth control so they could exploit sex. I don't recall God giving Adam and Eve Condoms but maybe the scribes left that part out.

It's just another thing most Christians ignore. They take the stand point of "it feels good so do it" much like their standing on meat eating. Let's ignore the "thou shall not kill" and "the merciful are blessed" and eat up. Ignore the suffering and damage done at the end of the day. I didn't see an asterisk that said "thou shall not kill* *except the animals, they are ok to kill" but hey - moving on. I think only Noah got the OK on that since all the plant life was dead after that little flood. However that wasn't meant to continue on.

It would be nice to explore alternative points such as the life celibacy of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Other believe systems such as Gandhi being married and practicing celibacy as an experiment. Reaching the viewpoint that it was part of reaching the highest spirituality to where you could be considered a God.

-God loves us all
Yet he killed how many people?? How many died in the flood Noah had to float on? Killing = love?? Just curious. He kinda killed more than Lucifer in the Bible but hey who is keeping track.

All and all i think if you are Christian you will adore this book, read it as fact, and go on BAAing with the rest of the herd. However if you are like me you will want a more open minded viewpoint of the afterlife or at least one pertaining somewhat to your own religion.

Personally i don't know how anyone can believe in God without considering all prophets. Far as i'm concerned they all came from God with a message thus they are all relevant. To ignore them and only choose the one closest to home is not wise. I would prefer a book that was closer to that or a Baha'i viewpoint. Baha'i consider all religions which is the best way to go and believe Science and Religion as one. I'm not Baha'i but i;m definitely looking into it as it reflects my own beliefs based on the knowledge i acquired researching MANY religions. Not just claiming Christianity is the "one" because i say so. I'm mentioning this for others who are looking for less biased viewpoints.

Anyways back to the book - A lot of it is merely his opinion with no evidence to back it up. Only very lightly does he mention scripture that actually pertains to his point. I did, however, enjoy parts where he actually does base his viewpoints on the scripture such as, rewards/crowns in the after life as i feel that is not touched on much. Although, we have no clue what that means and there's probably better books that go into all that.

If you do read this book have an open mind and don't take it as fact. Question everything. In the meantime, i would like to read another book on this subject that explores from more viewpoints and other religions.
