Item Description...
Tozer beckons us to hear God's call and pursue a right relationship with Him. From his meditation on Psalm 46:10 ("Be still and know that I am God") to his reflections on Christian service throughout history, Tozer highlights examples of servanthood worthy of emulation. As Tozer himself said, "We need more men who can hear the words of God and translate them into human speech." God Tells the Man Who Cares is exemplary of the work of a man who has the "Spirit's gift and special enabling to be the voice to mankind."

Publishers Description

"God Tells the Man Who Cares" is a book compiled by Anita Bailey of A.W. Tozer's editorials in the Alliance Life and Alliance Weekly magazine. The book starts in the beginning chapters with Tozer bluntly stating that "God has nothing to say to the frivolous man." This sentiment is carried on through the remaining chapters as Tozer urges the believer to be vigilant in his pursuit of God's voice in his life. A.W. Tozer reminds the Christian that stillness and meditation on the Spirit of God may be more spiritually profitable than the front of religion that is so prevalent in modern society. Stillness is the quality that is so often lost in the business of today's world. To be still and know that He is God is an old truth that is much quoted but rarely lived. Tozer's convicting voice will bring you to a new and humbling place in your relationship with the Lord. He invites you to lay your emotions at His feet. This book provides insight into the true nature of a servant's heart. Tozer examines many of the aspects of institutionalized Christianity and renews their worth, never allowing the service of God to become an artificial religion. This, he says, "is a disease of the soul, and can only be healed by the Physician of souls."

Reviews - What do our customers think?
One of Tozer's Best  Mar 27, 2007
I cannot say enough good about this book. As a pastor I was especially challenged by the two chapters "The Best Things Come Hard" and "Honesty in Prayer".

Every Christian man should read this book.
God Does Care About Us!  Oct 6, 2003
Tozer's compact gem of a book focuses on God' willingness to communicate with those who sincerely seek Him.

Tozer covers several important points, including:

1. God is to be treated with reverence.
2. God is best known in silence.
3. The church is to contrast with the world.
4. Unity is not always desirable.
5. Christians have become too accomodating to the world.
6. Beware of pragmatism in the church.
7. A Christian should be a creative thinker.
8. Beware of religious artificiality and the fear of man.
9. Do not be afraid to speak up for the truth!
10. Faith and expectation go together.

All in all, I highly recommend the book for the person who seeks a deeper relationship with the Lord and who dares to be different from the world!
