Overview
How a 2,000-year-old letter can revolutionize your life. The Apostle Paul was a wise saint who often revealed a crusty attitude-especially when the truth of the gospel was under attack. So when he penned his letter to his "dear children" in the faith-the Galatians-his frustration over their warped thinking had him about to blow his top. Though he tried to restrain himself, he couldn't help but call them foolish! Paul simply could not understand how any follower of Christ, adopted by faith into the most free and exciting life possible, could want to go back to the old way of bondage to rules and regulations. You'd think by now, two thousand years later, things would have changed. But even today Christians just can't seem to get the revolutionary message of spiritual freedom and power advocated in the book of Galatians. In Foolish No More! Ted Haggard, senior pastor of New Life Church in Colorado Springs and president of the National Association of Evangelicals, retraces Paul's arguments to make the clear case for breathtaking freedom in Christ. So wise up! Discover how to put off the old ways and walk in the Spirit, enjoy freedom in Christ, and wield the power of God on behalf of His Kingdom.

Foolish No More! is profound but down-to-earth, serious but funny, and theological but very plain and human. Ted Haggard has a wonderful ability to make deep truths simple and easy to understand. You will love his story telling style. Most important, you will grow to love our wonderful Lord and want to serve Him all the more.”
--Vonette Z. Bright, Co-Founder-Campus Crusade for Christ, International

“Honestly, who wants to be stupid…let alone foolish? Foolish No More! is an empowering guide for all ages to a wise and fun filled life. It overflows with practical and profound truths you can really get your hands and life around. Ted Haggard is our pastor and friend…these are the very principles that have blessed and strengthened our family for years.”
–John & Lisa Bevere, speakers and authors of Drawing Near, Bait of Satan, Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry, and Out of Control & Loving It!

“Ted Haggard is one of those very rare people who can be relied upon to ‘say it like it is.'
To turn away from this re-visit of the life and message of Paul--and to fail to learn these crucial lessons--would be little short of willful foolishness. Controversial and challenging, this is a real page-turner, and the question and answer sessions make for equally compulsive reading. The spiritually blind or deaf will gain little from this book — others beware!”
--Dr. Clive Calver, Senior Pastor, Walnut Hill Community Church, Danbury, Connecticut

“I wholeheartedly support Ted Haggard's desire to ‘seize all the life Jesus promised' through his series of LifeGiving Books. Here he presents basic foundational truths that are key to Christian living. As Solomon once wrote, ‘A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.' Those who heed Ted's advice are embracing wisdom and well on their way to being ‘foolish no more.'”
–James Robison, Founder and President, LIFE Outreach International

Reviews - What do our customers think?
Beyond belief is right  Nov 18, 2006
Like the reviewer below, who doesn't understand that bigotry toward gays, masked as religion, hate pretending to be piety, creates the self-hate and hypocrisy of a Ted Haggard (and the rest of the closeted gays in religious circles.)

But I'm sure the "good christian" below will be relieved to know that the gay prostitute, at least, practiced responsible sex: no spread of AIDs, church lady, he wore a condom when he screwed Ted Haggard.

Foolish No More?   Nov 6, 2006
Pastor Haggard gives sums of advice, lots of it sexual, to his readers regarding how to live on the straight and narrow pathway to heaven. Meanwhile it seems that he found his own path to heaven paved with meth and a male prostitute exposing his wife of many years to shame and humiliation not to mention exposure to AIDS.

If Pastor Haggard is "Foolish No More" I wonder what standard he is qualifying his judgment by. I believe my spaniel has more sense than to contact a common male prostitute and expose his family to potential disease and death from AIDS.

Small but Powerful  Oct 23, 2006
It is hard to believe that the first reviewer actually read "Foolish No More". It is more believable that he used this as a platform to push a personal agenda and philosophy - unfortunate, but not unheard of in today's environment. This book was worth the money and the time if you want to get a different perspective on Christianity; one that is true to the bible, but focuses principally on just one book, Galatians. It is in this book of the new testament where we can find a picture of how today's "church" is supposed to be - regardless of denomination. Those who follow Christ will be inspired and refreshed at a closer look what is my favorite book of the new testament.

I will admit though, calling some of his insights "Haggardisms" didn't do anything for me. I would have preferred he put them in "call out" boxes or side bars and just called them "things to remember". But, if I've learned anything from the book, I know that such a thing means nothing in the grand scheme of who he is in Christ. Nevertheless, it's one man's opinion as it relates to writing style. Frankly, it's the only reason I give the book 4 stars instead of 5.

If you find this work on grace refreshing, I would highly recommend "Messy Spirituality" by Mike Yaconelli as well. It is written in a similar vein, but I found it even more compelling...to the point that I read it a second time immediately after the first, because I was so disappointed it ended.

Lastly, I was delighted and surprised at the ending of this book. Haggard spends the last pages talking about sex within marriage - but in this case doesn't call any of his insights "Haggardisms", while I found them as profound and as "right on" as any of his others - these last pages alone are worth the price of the book for anyone with a struggling marriage.

Foolish Mind Seizures - Stuck in Futile Belief  Jan 11, 2006
In a recent encounter with Richard Dawkins, the glowering megalomania and utterly un-Jesus-like power trip eyes of Ted Haggard revealed that he would not tolerate his power base and money generator being challenged by Truth. Haggard, who stands on a 4.54 billion year-old Earth, shares an ancestor common to the great apes (and thus shares an ancestor common to primates) from whom he and all modern humans evolved. There goes Ted's money-generating evangelicals' God - unravelled by Truth.

Ted Haggard is merely just another in a long line of wealthy, corporate-style clones and front men for - and drooling beneficiaries of - the fantasy-entertainment industry known as 'Christianity'. The same old wheels go on turning 'round. The same old mind-loops of self-generated endorphin & dopamine feeding frenzies take place at his mega-church - The New Life Church, Colorado.

Money is exchanged for hope with his books, booklets, tapes, videos, and seminar appearances. It seems the dollar counting machines are personally endorsed by 'The Lord Je$u$ Chri$t' - one of the most successful fantasy figures ever created by the mind of man.

Someone profits from all this drivel and gibberish - and it is not to all exclusion the underprivileged, starving or homeless.

At Haggard's uber-church, people crowd the stadium to worship within an artificial personal and collective structure (Christianity) - to pray to their own imagination as a form of self-administered comfort and emotional analgesia. They worship a product of human culture ('The Christ Jesus') indulging in crude self-hypnosis. Under mounting pressure, the world is not 'turning to faith'. It is escaping into the realm of fantasy and wishful thinking.

Haggard's book is typical of the facile, anodyne, pre-digested, bland fare lapped up by the needy masses who need a route to self-hypnosis utilising fantasy and daydream. It's only human to seek answers and solutions to life and to longings, yearnings and desires, but they are not to be found with small men like Haggard.

Religion spreads like a virus through society and become fused into culture because of the powerful attraction - and deep need - to escape into the imagination. In the ludicrous myth-fantasy and mind-virus of `The Christ', `God' Saves those Created & Sustained by Himself and who Live & Move & Have their Being Within Himself by Sacrificing Himself to Himself to Appease His Own Wrath.

The religious imagination is rooted in babyhood - all babies become fixated on an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-perfect parent figure. The result might be rigid 'Christ' & `God' fixation in adulthood. Bible-zombies and robots-of-Christianity enslave themselves with thought-loops of God & Jesus-gibberish such as Haggard's output. These religious fantasists ignore the fact that man has always invented gods and goes on doing so. The farrago that is The Bible is one huge man-breathed myth no different from any other products of the human imagination and compulsions to invent god.

When we suffer bio-electrical, bio-physical & bio-chemical brain and body death, it is over for each and all of us - your life-force, and everyone else's, ends, and eternal life is exposed for the futile fantasy that it is. We cease to exist. When all of mankind has perished, `God' will cease to be, since the collective mind of humankind is the SOLE LOCUS OF EXISTENCE of 'God'.

Christianity is a cultural artefact - an object of some of the most powerful and potent lifelong fantasies, rigid thinking, mania and mental enslavement, cultural imprisonment, mind loops of futility, and wilful self-hypnosis ever to grip the imagination of humankind.

God' and `Christ' are merely powerful symbols and metaphors for feelings and wishes that vain and fetishistic humankind enjoys indulging about itself. Infantilised Christians demand a parent authored by their problems, wishes, obsession-compulsions, fixations, fetishes and fantasies. They collude in immersing their lives in a cruel hoax: religious belief.

So `Pastor' Ted Haggard - what was it exactly that drew you to the multi-billion dollar fantasy-entertainment industry known as 'Christianity'?
