Reviews - What do our customers think?
Cross Fire  Nov 26, 2006
This book was enjoyable aside from the occasional underhanded remark about Catholicism. Jeannette Windle demonstrates her misunderstanding about Catholic Christians through her characters' misunderstanding and superstitions. She never offers a single Catholic character who tries to live the Catholic faith. The Catholic family lies, steals, bribes, grows and processes cocaine, do not help the poor, eventually resort to murder, and think a cross is a lucky charm. On the other hand, the several non-Catholic Christian characters are all equated with goodness, holiness, and charity. It would have been better if she had just left out any references to the Catholic Church. It wouldn't have hurt the plot at all, and she wouldn't have demonstrated her bias and her lack of knowledge.
Awesome  Nov 23, 2006
I don't know how anyone could put this book down without finishing it! This is #1 on my list of favorite contemporary Christian fiction, without a doubt. I can hardly wait to read the sequel! I'll definitely be recommending this book to everyone I meet.
great premise couldn't finish it  Jun 9, 2006
The book started out really well and I inhaled the first 300 pages but then it just started to drag. It took so long for so little to happen, plot-wise. I found it to be predictable at points and therefore a bit of a let down compared to other's rave reviews. I didn't want to waste anymore time reading a book that I had lost interest in.
Avid Reader who like's suspense and thriller's with deep lesson's  Sep 23, 2005
This book was everything I was looking for. Although this is a very large book, I did not have any trouble getting through it. The author's background and extensive knowledge of the South American countries, where this take's place was amazing. It really show's what a young woman can get pulled in to, (referring to her relationship in this book), when her focus is not on God. Being a person who was lonely, she was "ripe for the picking". The character's in this book were great, and had you on the edge, many time's. Male or female reader's will love this book. It has everything, and enlighten's you into a world you could never imagine.
Awesome read, couldn't put it down!  Jan 18, 2004
This was the first book I'd read by Jeanette Windle, and it won't be the last. If you can imagine traveling to your ultimate fantasy and having it turn into the ultimate nightmare, then take a deep breath and read Crossfire.

Sarah marries Nicholas and travels to Bolivia in hope of the perfect life. Nicholas's family, the Cortezes' have wealth that most americans wouldn't believe, courtesy of the family business that provides a life without limits. Encounters with the DEA lead to questions and Sara asks herself if everything is actually what it seems. Many times this book asks the question concerning where God is during the rough times? Has He left us? Has He turned his back on us? When you read this book, you'll see our Heavenly Father in a whole new light, and you will ultimately know that he never left us for one second! That's what makes this more than a mere 5 star book. Jeanette Windle is right up there with Ted Dekker, Frank Peretti and Robert Whitlow! Oh yeah!
