KJV Bible History
The KJV Bible Version had its beginning 1604 when a Puritan spokesman named Dr. John Reynolds thought that a new English Bible should be issued in honor of the newly appointed ruler of Brittani and Ireland, James VI an proposed the idea to the King. The King saw this as an opportunity to unify the Presbyterian church in Scotland and the Episcopal church in England. For the translation, 54 scholars were appointed by the king himself and were given the ben Asher text to translate the Old Testament and the Greek text of Erasmus for the New Testament. In 1611 it was completed and published and soon gained popularity as the "Authorize Bible" and later on moved to become the "Official Bible of England".
