Great Book!!  Feb 24, 2010
I just discovered Trish Perry and I love her writing style. Perry makes you feel like you're at the beach and the characters really come to life. Great book! Great buy!!
The setting, the Beach House becomes a character in this story. It first repels and then draws in the guests who visit there.

The owner Julian and his unlikely friend Zeke are a wonderful addition to the Beach House Series. I didn't read the first two in the series by Sally John yet, so each of these stories can stand alone. That is always good to know when reading a series.

The "Message" I got from this story is although it is hard to live down your "pre-salvation" reputation, God can heal relationships and friendships can grow between unlikely people. God can make our differences seem small after all.

If you want a spiritual lift, I recommend Beach Dreams.

Beach Dreams
By Trish Perry
Review by Roseanna White

Sometimes you just have to get away. That's what Tiffany LeBoeuf intends to do when she suggests a vacation with her father. They're both still recovering from her mother's death, and the beach house in San Diego sounds perfect. But it becomes perfectly trying when a scheduling goof leaves her face to face with Eve Danfield, the epitome of mean. The old Tiffany would have bared her claws and dug in. The new Tiff tries--really, really tries--not to be bothered. Not even by the constant references to Eve's boyfriend, Jeremy, to whom Tiff is not attracted.

Jeremy Beckett finds it hard to believe that the sweet and thoughtful women he literally tripped over a week ago is the same cruel bird he'd met over a year ago at his friend Kara's gym. But this new Tiff is fun to be around, though Eve doesn't seem to agree. He hopes they can get along out in California . . . and with all the surprises that crop up, he hopes he can keep up--without getting ahead of himself.

My first though about Beach Dreams? Finally! I fell in love with Jeremy in Trish's first two books, The Guy I'm Not Dating and Too Good to be True, and I was ecstatic to finally get his story. Following in the tracks of the bestselling Beach House series by Sally John, Beach Dreams is a witty and heartwarming story about second chances and trusting in the Lord.

I got a huge kick out of Tiffany. As a relatively new Christian, she's full of questions and hesitations that can range from hilarious to deeply thought-provoking. She gives a lot of thought to staying true to her faith and demonstrating it to her family and friends, but at the same time she maintains a light approach to stressful events. Jeremy is, as always, a charming Brit with a comical bent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the peak into his brain as he tried to figure out this love thing--and maybe this Jesus thing along the way.

The setting makes this a perfect beach read, and the characters are going to wiggle their way into your heart and have you dreaming about them when you finally put the book down. Though a combination of two series, Beach Dreams is a stand alone that'll have you looking eagerly for more from this fantastic author.
something's not right...  May 15, 2009
I have tried to read three different books by this author, and I just can't finish them. The characters she creates and the words she puts into their mouths just don't fit right. It's like trying to force a piece of a jigsaw puzzle to fit when it doesn't. The storylines are interesting or I wouldn't bother buying the books to begin with. But, the dialogue just doesn't ring true. Sorry, Ms. Perry. I know you have a following out there but I can't be one of them. Best of luck to you though!
Hot British Guy + Beach Vacation = Happy  Jan 22, 2009
Tiffany has recently lost her mother to cancer. She decides that she and her father need to get away, to relax and cope together. A beach vacation out in San Diego seems to be just the thing to help them out. Meanwhile Jeremy's girlfriend Eve has decided she's going to be spending her vacation out at the beach as well. He decides to go visit her and finds out that due to a mix up, Eve and Tiffany are sharing the beach house. What ends up happening after that is a tale of comedy, romance, mixed in with a little surf and sand.

Seeing as how it's winter and 20 degrees outside right now, I wish that I could escape inside the setting of this book. A week at a beach house by the ocean would be a relaxing vacation right now. And that is what reading this book was like. I could picture myself walking on the sand, listening to the waves, sitting out on the deck, watching the sunset, eating fresh seafood. Trish Perry paints a marvelous picture that is a surefire armchair traveler. I have not read the first two books in the original Beach House series by Sally John but from what I can tell it wasn't a hindrance to my reading. I have however read the first two books by Trish Perry that share the same characters. I would have to say out of the three books featuring these characters, this one is my favorite. Jeremy has been the character who's story I've been waiting to read about. It's the British accent and the fact that I kept picturing Jude Law throughout the book. Hot British guy at a beach? I'm so there! Who would have thought I'd be rooting for Tiffany after her appearances in the other two books? She has changed a lot and has become more down to earth, less snotty and a real genuine Christian. She's still learning about her new faith for it's understandable and realistic when her old tendencies pop up every now and then. And wow, I wanted to smack Jeremy's girlfriend, Eve. I did not like her character at all, and I wouldn't have blamed Tiffany at all for going back to her old ways whenever Eve would pop up. I would have to say she's one of the most irritating and vicious characters I've read in a while. The story is great as it flip flops between Jeremy and Tiffany's POVs. I really like the chemistry between them as well as their interactions with the other characters. Overall this book was really fun to read. It's a great way to escape the doldrums of your own life. Just sit back and relax with a fruity drink and pretend you're at the beach enjoying this book. I'll be looking forward to the next one!
