Item Description...
This book represents an insider's view of what life might have been like during the time when the struggle between Good and Evil began. There was a time when the universe was at peace with their Creator but that soon changed when some of God's Angelic Messengers rebelled and tried to usurp God's power and attempted to rule the earth themselves. Those most vulnerable were the women on earth who would be the main targets of this rebellion. Would these women stand firm or would they give in to the sensual and material advances of these powerful Angelic Creatures? And ultimately, who will win the battle of Good over Evil?

Beautiful story  Dec 8, 2005
I just finished it and loved this book. Although it is fictional there is so much truth within.
Also the undying faith that the heroin of the story has in God is truly inspiring.
I wish the book were longer, but it was rather meaty for such a shortish story in comparison to many modern-day novels.
Definitely a good read for Bible readers everywhere (and anyone else with an open mind)
Angels, Women, and Typos....  Apr 5, 2004
I was fortunate enough to read the full story behind this by contacting the editor, Jim Rizoli. After having finally had the time to sit down and digest this rich piece of fiction, I am most curious to see if I can get my hands on the original novel, because this book seemed to have a number of strikingly modern conceptions of what life before the Deluge might have been like.

Told from a first-person point of view in journal format, this beautifully descriptive book gives us a glimpse--and just a glimpse--of a gorgeous world, and the deceptive allure of sin. My only complaint is that which I have repeated for many self-published books, and that is that the editor/author could have used the services of a grammarian. The number of typos and grammatical errors were sufficient to distract me from the story, but only temporarily.

Overall, one of the most effective pieces of antediluvian fiction, in terms of being able to describe an alien and credible culture.

Amazing story to open you imagination  Feb 16, 2003
Trite but true is the saying , "Truth is stranger than fiction." Fiction sometimes illuminates the truth. This book helps people get a better understanding of the Antedelutian account because of its rich detail. The scriptural account is so small, but it opens one's mind to the possibilities. Some references in the novel relate to recent scientific discoveries, which make it all the more interesting. What people don't realize is that this novel was originally written in 1878, ahead of its time. I recommend new readers and old ones to compare the different editions so as to get a full understanding. Buy the 2000 edition first, then move onto the original called, "Seola" written by Mrs. J. Gregory Smith in 1878, it has some fantastic differences that are quite thought provoking.
Couldn't out it down!  Nov 30, 2001
Thank you for the Angels and Women Book I loved it! I couldn't put it down, I loved the language and brilliant descriptions of decorated rooms and beautiful clothes. What an imagination the writer had. But most of all I enjoyed the way God spoke to us through this book. I know He inspired the writing, His messages were so clear, evil will not survive, faithfullness will; prayers are answered; especially prayers for others. Forgiveness can be obtained, and redemption won (Hesperus!) and many more. I think the writer was also a bit of a feminist. the character of Aloma was such an opposite of eve, it was almost like she was trying to convince us that all women weren't like Eve. Thank you again for the book.
Angels and Women  Nov 30, 2001
This book, Angels and Women, gives the reader another understanding to a Biblical event only hinted at in the Bible account at Genesis 6:1-5

Upon reading Angels and Women one comes to a greater understanding of what it may have been like to be living back there when evil was so bad on the earth that God had to step in to destroy the wicked inhabitans, only leaving Noah, his family and a host of animals in the Ark.

Who were these "Sons of God" that the Bible only hints at? This book gives you the answer. You can only imagine what the world would have been like if these "Sons of God" continued to use their angelic minds for good. Computers, space travel and other earthly wonders could have been within grasp thousands of years ago.
If there was any book that should be made into a movie it would be this one. Its a combination of Indiana Jones, Romeo and Juliet, with a lot of the Last days of Pompeii and Atlantis. This book would be a great one for Oprah.

A must read for those interested in finding out the big question which is, who possibly were the "Sons of God" mentioned in the Bible at Gen 6:1-5?
