Couldn't put it down  Apr 25, 2006
I have met the author. She is hardly "a bitter woman." Quite the contrary.

I read her other book first. This book is very different, but even more interesting. This is a very true story of her life. I guess I was simply stunned to read what she went through, even knowing why, "before" I read the book.

I started reading one evening, and didn't put it down until I completed it, early the next morning. She is a strong, smart, "godly" woman.
Very informative book  Apr 9, 2005
Ms. Howe is an extremely strong woman. Her courage to step out of the Catholic church and to discover truth should be a great example to all. I have heard Ms. Howe speak and I believe that not only is her message the truth, but also it is presented very well. I learned a lot from her book and I am thankful for her ministry.
This book is one person's viewpoint.  May 12, 2004
I having been a Protestant Christian for 20+ years feel that Ms. Howe is a bitter angry woman. Apparently she never read the Little Flowers of St. Francis. I became a Catholic 3 years ago and I have found more genuine love from Catholics than I ever did in many different Protestant churches. At the end of the book she compares Catholics to Protestants and it is very much lacking in the truth. At one point she states that is wrong to pray to saints. Prayer is a just another form of talking. Those that have passed on can hear us and will pray for us if we ask them to. There are miracles upon miracles. I don't think it bothers God if you have faith. Jesus gave the diciples power to cast out demons and he said if people don't believe then don't cast your pearls before swine. People had to believe God was using them as a vessel for the miracle. She says many things about her life after she is no longer a nun being very difficult. It seems she is not a particularly warm person to begin with. Though it should not be blamed on the church. We can all become bitter about how people treat us if we let it but we need to resist and move on from there and let God's healing power and love cpme into our lives.
VERY WELL WRITTEN and extremely interesting for all.  Oct 7, 1998
Ms. Howe takes you through the sacrifice, rigors, humility and discipline of what it takes to become a professed nun. She shares her deep devotion and duty to God as a member of the 'religious', a Roman Catholic nun. But she senses something is missing from her life spiritually. So she seeks the truth that shatters her beliefs that have been a part of her for so many years.
